Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has today, March 03, 2022, announced the revised exam dates for candidates who were assigned exam centres in three states, namely Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab. Exam dates have been announced via a circular published by SSC on its official website ssc.nic.in. Accordingly, exam in these states will be conducted on three dates – March 14, 15 and 16, 2022.
The SSC Selection Post Phase 9 exam was postponed in UP, UK and Punjab due to a clash of dates with the Legislative Assembly elections. Exam will now be held in the second week of March 2022, at selected centres across the states. Exam will be organised in the computer-based format for all candidates.
SSC Selection Post Phase 9 New Exam Dates
Earlier, SSC had planned on organising the Selection Post Phase 9 examination from February 02 to 10, 2022. The recruitment exam was being organised to fill-up a total of 3261 vacancies distributed across several posts. These include Junior Seed Analyst, Head Clerk, MTS, Sub-Editor, Driver, Librarian, Accountant, Scientific Assistant, Conservation Assistant Technical, Chargeman and many more.
Amid this plan, SSC noticed an apparent clash of dates with the General Elections or Legislative Assembly elections 2022 in three states – Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab. After much deliberation and discussion, the commission decided on postponing the recruitment exam in these three states. The postponement was indefinite as no revised date was announced.
After almost a month’s wait, SSC has announced the revised dates for conducting the SSC Selection Post Phase 9 2022 examination. Further details about exam centre and call letters will be notified in due course of time, to concerned candidates.
Dates for Legislative Assembly Elections
While assessing the decision of SSC, a pertinent question comes to light – was there a need to postpone the recruitment exam? Candidates can determine the answer to this question by looking at the legislative assembly election dates mentioned below –
Uttar Pradesh: February 20 to March 10, 2022
Punjab: February 20 to March 10, 2022
Uttarakhand: February 14 to March 10, 2022
Looking at the dates mentioned above, it is evident that the previous SSC Selection Posts Phase 9 exam dates were parallel to the election dates. This would invariably, cause inconvenience to candidates who were assigned centres in these states. To avoid this, SSC decided on rescheduling the recruitment exam. Looking at the new exam dates, candidates have merely 9-10 days of preparation time to ace the recruitment exam.
