NEET 2021

The State Bank of India has officially postponed the SBI Clerk/JA 2021 Prelims exam through a public notice on sbi.co.in. The examination was tentatively scheduled to be held in June 2021 although the bank did not commit to an exact date of conducting the exam till now.

State Bank of India earlier notified openings for Clerk/Junior Associate post through advertisement No. CRPD/CR/2021-22/09 dated 27.04.2021. The selection procedure consists of a Prelims exam, followed by the Main exam and subsequent local language test. More than 5000 vacancies are available and SBI is conducting recruitment to fill up the vacancies for the Junior Associate (Customer Sales & Support) post this year.

Earlier, the nationalized bank notified that the Prelims exam will be held in June 2021. Although the bank did not notify any exact date, as per reports, a Pre Examination training was also scheduled to be held on the first day of June 2021. Now, the bank has released an official postponement notice regarding the SBI Clerk/JA 2021 Prelims exam. The notice reads “In view of the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Preliminary Examination scheduled to be held in June 2021 has been deferred till further notice”.

It is not clear when the Prelims exam can be held by the bank in future. Candidates may note that the exam stands deferred until further notice. It can be anticipated that the exam can only be conducted when situations are more conducive. As per some unofficial sources, it may be at least till July-August 2021, before the pandemic situation can subside and exams can be held.

Since the State Bank have not highlighted any future date of conducting the SBI Clerk/JA 2021 prelims exam, candidates are advised to focus on preparations for the exam. The exam pattern, syllabus and other details of the complete recruitment process has already been notified through the official website.

Candidates have to pass the Prelims in order to appear in the Main exam. The Prelims question paper is based on the topics of English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability consisting of 30, 35 and 35 questions respectively. All questions will be of the MCQ type pattern and a sectional timing of 20 minutes will be provided for each section.

Aspirants may note that there is negative marking in the SBI Clerk/JA 2021 Prelims exam. For each incorrect answer, 1/4th marks will be deducted. On the other hand, correct answers will fetch 1 marks for each question. Registered candidates are advised to refer to previous year papers of the exam, solve mock tests and sample papers to prepare better for the exam and ace the Prelims in the first attempt.
