The State Bank of India recently postponed the Preliminary exam for recruitment of 5237 Junior Associates (Customer Sales & Support) on account of the pandemic. The exam was scheduled to be held tentatively in June 2021 while the admit card for the Prelims were scheduled to be released tentatively on June 01, 2021.
Although State Bank of India did not commit to any exact exam date for conducting the Prelims, the tentative schedule of organizing the test in June 2021 was notified through the advertisement. Similarly, the admit card release date was also notified and it was likely to release on June 01, 2021. However, now that the exam is deferred, what can be the most likely revised date of the exam and the release of the admit card?
SBI indicated in the official postponement notice that the Prelims exam is deferred indefinitely. However, as per unofficial sources, the exam is most likely to be held somewhere in July-August, after the pandemic situations are expected to have subsided. Although this is not official, if the exam is held in July-August, candidates can expect the JA Prelims Call Letter to release at least 10 days before the exam.
The fact that earlier the exam was scheduled to be held in June, 2021 and the call letters to be released on the first day of June, 2021 indicates that the bank is most likely to release the admit card in the same month as the exam date. In the previous year, the State Bank also conducted recruitment of Junior Associates by organizing a similar selection process. The admit card for the Prelims were released 11 days before the exam date.
Based on such analysis of the exam date and the release of the admit card, we are of the view that the SBI JA Call Letter for the Prelims exam will be released around 10-15 days before the exam date. The Bank is expected to release the exact date of conducting the Prelims on the official website soon after situations have subsided and are conducive to conduct exams. Candidates may note that as of now, State Bank has not confirmed any official date of conducting the test. Whenever the exam is conducted, candidates can expect the admit card to release around 2 weeks before the exam.
