The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the application window for the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Exam (AISSEE) 2022. Interested guardians or students can submit the online applications on the official website – aissee.nta.nic.in. The last date for submitting the online applications is October 26, 2021 (up to 5 PM). AISSEE 2022 examination will be conducted on January 09, 2022. Through this examination, students will be eligible to seek admission to classes 6 and 9 of the Sainik schools.
Primarily, the application process is divided into four stages namely registration, filling online applications, uploading scanned documents and paying application fees. These four stages can either be done together or at different times. The application fee for general, OBC (NCL) and wards of defence personnel categories is Rs 550. The same for the SC/ST category students is Rs 400.
The entrance examination timing for admission to class 6 is from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM. The mode of examination for both classes 6 and 9 is paper pencil on OMR sheets. For class 6, a total of 125 MCQs will be asked from Mathematics, Intelligence, Language and General Knowledge. The total marks is 300 and the examination medium can be any from the 13 languages mentioned in the information bulletin. In terms of eligibility criteria, the candidate should be between 10 and 12 years as on March 31, 2022.
The examination timing for class 9 is from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. On the other hand, class 9 entrance examinees will have to answer 150 MCQs from Mathematics, Intelligence, English, General Science and Social Science. The total marks for the class 6 AISSEE exam is 400. The medium of the exam is only English only. To be eligible for appearing in the AISSEE 2022 exam, the candidate should be between 13 and 15 years as on March 31, 2022.
AISSEE is an important examination that is conducted every year to admit students to the Sainik Schools. These are English medium schools and are run by the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Sainik schools prepare cadets who can join the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla (Pune), Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala and other Training academies to become officers. Presently, there are 33 Sainik schools across the country. From the 2021-22 academic session, girl students were allowed to take admission to class 6 in the Sainik schools. Earlier, it was only limited to boys. However, admission to class 9 is not open for girls.
Before applying, guardians and students are advised to go through the information bulletin that is available on the official website. To make an online application, take a look at the steps given below.
Step 1- Visit aissee.nta.nic.in and scroll down the page to click on ‘Apply for AISSEE 2022’
Step 2- Click on ‘New Registration’ and enter details such as email ID and mobile number
Step 3- Using the application number that will be generated after successful registration, log in again to complete filling the online application form
Step 4- In the next step, upload scanned copies of the documents like photograph, signature, birth certificate, etc.
Step 5- Pay the required fee to receive the confirmation page
Step 6- Take a printout of the confirmation page for future correspondence.
