Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has announced that RRB NTPC 2021 Phase 7 exam dates will be announced later on when all the states will remove restrictions. So far, RRB has conducted 6 phases of the NTPC exam until the month of April. However, the recruitment board had to pause the exam process in mid due to the second wave of COVID.
On May 31, 2021, RRB officially announced that they will hold the rest of the CBT exams when the restrictions due to Covid-19 are lifted. Along with NTPC, RRB has also put RRB Group D and RRB Ministerial and Isolated Categories recruitment on hold.
RRB has announced the postponement of group D exams until further notice.

For the RRB NTPC examination, approximately 1.25 crore applicants applied. Of these, around 119 lakh have already taken the exam in phases 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Approximately 6 lakh candidates are yet to sit for the CBT 1 of NTPC and are looking forward to the released of admit card. The candidates for whom the exam have been held are waiting for the release of the answer key and result. But, the Indian railway cannot release any until all the phases of the exam have been held.
Phase 1 was held from December 28, 2020, to January 13, 2021. Phase 2 was held from January 16 to 30, 2021. Phase 3 from January 31 to February 12, 2021. Phase 4 was scheduled from February 15 to March 3, 2021. Phase 5 was held between March 4 to 27, 2021 and the 6th phase was held from April 1 to 8.
In CBT 1 phase 1 of RRB NTPC, 23 lakh candidates took the exam. In phase 2, 28 lakh candidates took the exam. In phase 3, 28 lakh candidates appeared. In phase 4, 15 lakh candidates appeared, In phase 5, 19 lakh candidates took the exam, and phase 6 was held for 6 lakh candidates.
RRB NTPC recruitment is for the posts of Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) i.e. Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Commercial Apprentice and Station Master in various Zonal Railways and Production Units of Indian Railways.
There shall be a two-stage Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by Skill Test (Computer-based Aptitude Test for Station Master and Traffic Assistant, Typing Skill Test for Junior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist and Senior Time Keeper). Subsequently, there will be document verification and medical examination.
Apart from RRB NTPC, Ministerial and Isolated Categories (CEN 03/2019) and RRC Group D (CEN 01/20219) recruitment exams have been also put on hold.
