Ever since the Minister of Railways announced that the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) will conduct RRB NTPC (CEN 01/2019) CBT 1 from December 15, 2020, candidates have started inquiring about the release of admit cards.
Looking at the past railway recruitment exams, it is anticipated that the admit card for RRB NTPC 2019-2020 exam will be available exactly 4 days prior to the exam date. Therefore if the exams start from December 15, 2020, then the admit cards are likely to be released from December 11, 2020 onwards.
In the last few railway exams, RRBs released admit cards exactly 4 days prior to each exam date. If the same happens this time then the candidates who get the exam date of December 15, 2020, will get their admit cards on December 11, 2020. Then those who have exams on December 16, 2020 will be able to download their call letters from December 12, 2020. And so on. So the exam date minus four shall be the date of release of hall ticket for the candidate. That is, if the exams are no longer postponed.
It is important to note that although admit cards are released just a few days prior to the exam, RRBs tell the candidates their exam date, shift, as well as city beforehand. This is done through an event called exam city, shift intimation where the respective RRBs provide these details to the candidates at their login. And this happens around 7-10 before exam. This way, candidates can make necessary travel arrangements beforehand.
However in this pandemic scenario, there are slight chances that city intimation happens even sooner.
Another important point to note is that insofar none of the RRBs have officially published any notification regarding the RRB NTPC 2020 exam date. Nevertheless the video published by Minister of Railways, Piyush Goyal clearly tells the exam dates for RRB NTPC (CEN 01/2019) as well as RRB Group D (RRC CEN 01/2019). Still, an official notification PDF from the Indian Railways is expected to finalize the schedule.
Railway Recruitment Boards had published the RRB Non Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) recruitment vide Centralized Employment Notification (CEN) 01/2019 on February 28, 2019. The last date to apply was in the month of April in the same year, and the first stage of computer based tests were supposed to be held from June to September last year. However they have been delayed for more than a year now for several reasons including conduct of other railway recruitment exams, finalization of ECA, and the pandemic.
Now 1,26,30,885 are scheduled to appear in the computer based tests to compete for 35,208 vacancies of junior clerk cum typist, accounts clerk cum typist, junior time keeper, trains clerk, commercial cum ticket clerk. Only 7 lakh of them will qualify for the second round, i.e. CBT 2.
