The Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (BSER) is going to release the notifications for the re-examination of the Level 2 of the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET 2022) soon. The process to apply for the exam was expected to begin from January 10, 2022. However, no such notification was released. The exam is tentatively scheduled for May 14 and 15, 2022.
As per reports, the application form will release in mid-February and the last date to register online for the exam will be in March 2022. Almost 62,000 teachers will be recruited through both Level-1 and Level-2 of REET 2022, as per the decision taken by the state’s cabinet.
The Level-2 exam was initially scheduled on September 26, 2021, but was later canceled. This was due to the huge protests held all over the state owing to the paper leak of the assessment. The Chairman and several Secretaries of the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) were sacked in the wake of allegations of corruption. CM Gehlot Singh and State Education Minister Govind Singh addressed the issue in a recent press conference held on February 7, 2022, and notified the public of the re-scheduling of the REET 2021 level-2 exam and the increase in the vacancies from 32,000 to 62,000.

REET examinations are conducted annually all over the state for teaching vacancies in Government schools. The objective of the exam is to recruit Third Grade Teachers (TGT). The primary and elementary teachers are recruited through the Level-1 and Level-2 assessments respectively. The candidates who have completed their diploma or a four-year Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) degree course are eligible to apply. Applicants who are in their final year of B. Ed can also apply.
The application fee to appear for a single level is INR 550, and for both the levels, it is INR 750. The duration of each exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes, where candidates have to answer 150 questions for 150 marks. There is no negative marking for wrong or unattempted answers. The minimum percentage to qualify the examination is 60% for general applicants and 55% for other candidates. The results are ideally announced 2 to 3 months after the examinations. Candidates are advised to keep a track of the official website of BSER, rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in for further updates.
