The CBSE has released the date for the Term 2 board exam 2022 along with the syllabus of the same. The term two theory exams will commence from April 26, 2022, as per an official circular released by the board. The Term 2 exams, much like the Term 1 exam conducted in November-December last year, for both classes 10 and 12, will be based on similar guidelines including, coverage of the remaining 50% of the syllabus, MCQ-based questions, and a duration of 120 minutes.
In this regard, the board has released the Term 2 syllabus for Class 10 English subject, in detail, on its official academic portal – cbseadcademic.nic.in. Students are required to go through the syllabus mentioned below and on its basis shape their preparation.
Class 10 Term 2 English Syllabus
The syllabus of the Term 2 English Language and Literature exam of class 10 has been outlined in detail below –

The questions in the reading session will be from unseen passages to check the vocabulary, interpretation, inference, and analytical skills of the student. The discursive passage should be written in around 400-450 words and the case-based passage should be around 300 to 350 words. The reading sections carry a weightage of 10 marks while the writing and grammar sections together account for 10 marks in the paper.
Different from the term 1 paper, analytical paragraphs have been added to the writing skill section and the type of letter asked has also changed. In term 1 the syllabus prescribed included a letter to the editor and a letter of complaint which has been replaced in Term 2.

Exam Pattern
The term 1 exam was conducted by CBSE from November 11 to December 17, 2021. The duration of the term 1 exam was 90 minutes and consisted only of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). The term II exam of CBSE class 10 is divided into 3 sections and a total of 40 marks.
