The Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET), 2021 was conducted on September 26, 2021. On October 3, 2021, BJP MP Kirodi Lal Meena alleged that the REET 2021 question paper and answer keys were leaked prior to the day of the exam. He also demanded a CBI inquiry into the situation. Following the unrest amongst the candidates, an investigation was conducted and a few officials were suspended. On October 10, 2021, the accused, Batti Lal Meena was arrested from Uttarakhand, along with another accused Shivdas Meena, by Rajasthan Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG).
Surprising Revelations
After almost 4 months of the exam and the investigation, new revelations have come to light. Following which a total of 20 accused were arrested by the SOG, including Prithviraj Meena and Bhajanlal Bishnoi. During interrogation, it was found that Bhajanlal Bishnoi had sold the paper to the candidates for a staggering sum of Rs. 40 lakh. Simultaneously, Batti Lal Meena and Prithviraj Meena had sold the paper for Rs. 10 to 12 lakh. Upon questioning, it was found that the paper was sold to Bhajanlal by Udram Vishnoi.

Yesterday, January 26, it was reported that the SOG has arrested 15 more accused in the case, including Udram Vishnoi, Ramkripal Meena, Dilkhush, constables Yaduveer Singh and Devendra Singh, Digambar Singh, and Paramvir Singh. They have further uncovered a deal of Rs. 1.22 crore. However, there is no information regarding how the paper was leaked from the government office. It has been reported that Ramkripal Meena, who is from Shiv Shakti Public School leaked the paper to Udram Vishnoi.
A total of 16.5 lakh candidates had enrolled for the REET 2021 exam, which was conducted to fill up around 30,000 vacancies for the recruitment of third-grade teachers in various government schools across the state. It is yet to know how the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (BSER) will fill up the vacancies and recruit the eligible candidates. More news is expected in this case, regarding how the paper was leaked and who are the others involved.
