The Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (RBSE) will be conducting the REET 2021 Exam on June 20, 2021. As of now, the Board has not confirmed the postponement of the REET exam 2021. However, there are several reports the Rajasthan Eligibility Exam for Teacher (REET) has been postponed. Considering the COVID-19 cases in Rajasthan, the REET exam is likely to get postponed for the fifth time.
The REET exam 2021 was earlier scheduled for April 25, 2021. Due to Mahavir Jayanti, the board decided to postponed the state TET examination. The new dates were announced was of June 20, 2021. A few days after the exam date announcement, the country was severely hit by the second wave of COVID-19. Several national and state-level recruitment exams got postponed. Boards exam of Class 10th also got cancelled.
There have been speculations the REET exam will get postponed further. However, there has been no official announcement yet. Rajasthan Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasra has said in a meeting that it is difficult to organize the REET examination with such a large number of candidates amidst COVID-19. It is likely that the REET exam gets postponed. Several reports also mention that the examination has already been postponed. Albeit, candidates should wait for RBSE to make an official announcement in this regard.
Moreover, RBSE, while postponing April 25 REET exam, stated that the EWS candidates are given an age limit and application fee concession. Due to this, candidates belonging to the EWS category will get a chance to apply for the REET examination again. As of now, the board has not released any schedule for the same. Most likely, the REET 2021 application Form for EWS candidates will be out soon. Such candidates should track the official website, rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in to get the latest update.
Furthermore, the REET examination is a state-level eligibility test that is conducted to test candidate’s eligibility for the post of primary teachers in the government schools of Rajasthan. As per the announcement made by the Education Minister, candidates qualifying REET 2021 Exam can apply for the 31,000 vacant teachers position for the state. Reports state that as of now, more than 16 lakh candidates have applied for the REET exam. Out of these around 3.50 lakh, candidates have been preparing for the examination for the past 3-4 years. Experts have said that with the reopening of the EWS application form, the number of candidates applying for REET exam will increase eventually.
