The Uttar Pradesh State Government has reportedly decided to cancel University exams this year. Students will be promoted without conducting any examination. On the other hand, all second-year students of UG & PG programs will be promoted on the basis of merit in their first-year exam. Students in the final year of all UG and PG programs will be promoted on the basis of final year exams which will be conducted as per schedule.

It is also being reported that a future meeting will be held by the expert committee with the controller of examinations and the vice chancellors of different Universities of Uttar Pradesh to decide the marking scheme for the promotion plan. On the other hand, Universities has been allowed to decide the format of exam for conducting the final year examinations of UG and PG students in Uttar Pradesh Universities.
