Indian Railway will be soon releasing notifications for massive direct recruitment for NTPC Graduate, NTPC UG, Paramedical, and Level 1. Railway Board has issued curricular to all the departments to submit category-wise existing and anticipated vacancies for next two years, i.e. upto March 31, 2021. The total predicted vacancies are to be submitted through Online Indenting and Recruitment Management System (OIRMS), between February 11 to 14, 2019.
The departments in Indian Railway will be filling data about the various categories. Divisional Railway Manager (DRMs) have power to create post on 1:1 ratio. The Railway Boards expect them to identify vacant posts that are to be created to make railway safety better and can help in managing workload.
It is no surprise that Indian Railway is holding world’s biggest recruitment drives. It is the 4th largest Railway in the world and is also 8th largest employer. As per the data, by the end of 2017, Indian Railway has 1.308 million employees.
With this huge recruitment, the number of employees will double. Railway is also holding RRB Group D, ALP / Technician, and Junior Engineer Recruitment at the moment. These three combined are for 1.4 lakh vacancies. In a recent press meet, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal disclosed that there are 2.25 – 2.50 more vacancies in Railway. Hence, Indian Railway is looked forward to recruit 4 lakh more employees.
He also hinted that the 1st phase of recruitment will be announced in February, and the 2nd phase will be out in the month of May. Indian Railway is planning to end the entire recruitment process by 2021. This can be one of the best opportunities for people in India to get recruited by Indian Railway because after the recruitment drives ends, there shall be no more opening for its next 2 to 3 years.
This year, all the recruitment exams by Railway are being conducted in Computer Based Mode. The syllabus and exam pattern of recruitment are different for different posts.
NTPC UG is for 10+2 candidates for posts such junior clerk-cum-typist, and commercial clerk. On the other hand, Non Technical Popular Categories (NPTC) Graduate is for various posts such as junior accounts assistant cum typist, goods guard, commercial apprentice, etc. For this, the candidates must have a valid Graduation degree.
The vacancies for Paramedical are also very popular in Railway. Last time, Indian Railway announced paramedical recruitment in the year 2014 and it was open for 951 vacancies. It is expected that this time it will be for more posts, in 21 RRBs.
Lastly, Level 1 in Indian Railway is Group C or popular as RRB Group D. The trades under the recruitment are unclear but it is expected that even this recruitment will be as ongoing RRB Group D, for which 1.8 crore candidates have applied.
