Indian Railways has more than 13 crore employees. Even then railways issues notifications for new recruitment from time to time. The most recent new recruitment by railways, in the year 2019, is the recruitment to fill 386 vacancies in South Western Railway.
General departmental competitive examination (GDCE) notification no. 02/2019 (GDCE), only for regular serving employees of SWR and RFW/YNK is hereby released. The GDCE is for selection to the post of senior commercial cum ticket clerk, with 160 vacancies, and commercial ticket clerk, with 226 vacancies. The positions are respectively in level 5 and level 3.

Railway recruitment 2019 for 386 vacancies is open for class 12th pass candidates to apply for commercial cum ticket clerk, and graduates in any degree for senior commercial cum ticket clerk. For the former, candidates must have at least 50% in aggregate, though this requirement is not on SC, ST, PWD, ExS.
The application form will be available from October 23, 2019, at rrchubli.in. Last date to apply online will be November 20, 2019. To apply, one has to go to SSC SWR website rrchubli.in, and follow the steps to apply there, which will be available from Wednesday.
There is no fee for this railway recruitment 2019.
For both posts, only serving regular employees of divisions or units or workshops or headquarters of south western railway and rail wheel factory or Yelahanka (RWF / YNK) except RPF / RPSF personnel, law assistant, catering inspector and accounts cadre can apply.
Railways requires that applicants are lower in posts than those for which the GDCE is conducted. However same level posts candidates can apply for GDCE from non-safety to safety and safety to non-safety.
Upper age limit for general, OBC, SC and ST respectively are 42, 45, and 47.
If the application form submitted by candidates has to be rejected for any reason, then communication regarding the same is sent via sms, email at their registered mobile number and email ID. Accepted applications are sent to divisions / units that are personnel department of headquarters, UBL, SBC, MYS, CAO CN, TMO / HQ.
RRC Hubli will conduct a computer based test for the purpose of selecting suitable candidates for the advertised posts. The CBT will have 100 multiple choice questions like in non technical popular categories (NTPC), on general awareness, arithmetic, general intelligence and reasoning. Each question will be of one mark, and one-third mark will be deducted for incorrect answer.
The exam will be of 90 minutes. It will be set in english, hindi, urdu, and local languages namely kannada, telugu, tamil, marathi, konkani.
RRC Hubli will announce exam date via sms and email. Admit cards will be issued two weeks prior to exam, at the official website. After the exam, and declaration of result thereof, there will be medical examination.
