Punjab Police Department has released a latest advertisement for recruitment of Constables in Districts. The advertisement has been released on the official Facebook page of the department i.e. Punjab Police India. Candidates who have passed Class 12 or equivalent are invited for recruitment although official dates are yet to be announced.
As per the short advertisement released by Punjab Police, a detailed notification, indicating complete details of the recruitment is to be released soon on the official website and leading dailies. However, as of now, basic details of eligibility, selection process etc. has been notified.
Candidates within the age of 18 to 28 years with 10+2 or equivalent qualification are eligible for the recruitment. Furthermore, candidates must have passed Punjabi at the Matriculation or equivalent level. In addition, relaxations on the upper age limit are applicable as per state government norms.
A written test will be conducted for initial selection of candidates. The syllabus of the test will be based on the following indicative topics.
- Mathematical/Reasoning/Logical Ability
- Language Skills (Punjabi/English)
- Basic Computer Knowledge
- Current Affairs & General Knowledge of India
- Basic Knowledge of Indian Constitution, Institutions of Indian Criminal Justice System etc.
It may be noted that the written test will be conducted prior to a Physical Test and only those candidates who pass the test will be eligible to appear in the Physical Tests. Punjab Police Department has also notified the details of the Physical Test which will be qualifying in nature. Thus, although the final merit lists will be prepared on the basis of the written exam, it is mandatory to pass the Physical Tests.
Male candidates have to run 1600 m in 6 minutes and 30 seconds in one attempt. They also have to perform a long jump of 3.80 m in three attempts. In addition, candidates have to perform a high jump of 1.10 m in three attempts.
Female candidates have to run 800 m in 4 minutes and 30 seconds in one attempt. They also have to perform a long jump of 3.00 m in three attempts. In addition, candidates have to perform a high jump of 0.95 m in three attempts.
