After withdrawing the earlier notification for Punjab Civil Service Exam 2020, Punjab Public Service Commission has republished the new notification at the official website. PPSC has announced 75 vacancies to be filled through the Punjab Civil Service 2020 exam. The Preliminary stage examination is tentatively scheduled to be conducted in February 2021. Online applications can be submitted by eligible candidates till December 30, 2020. Candidates will be able to submit online applications at ppsc.gov.in. The last date of receipt of application fee by system generated challan is January 06, 2021.
PPSC has published the short notice and detailed advertisement for Punjab Civil Service 2020 exam for the second time. Previously, the Commission accepted applications for conducting the examination but withdrew the notification in a public notice dated December 09, 2020. The Commission has now advertised 75 vacancies to be filled up by selecting eligible candidates through the examination. It may be noted that those who applied earlier and now wish to withdraw applications can do so at the official website before the last date.
Punjab Civil Service Exam 2020 Detailed Notification
The vacancies are available for Punjab Civil Service (Executive Post) (20), Dy. Superintendent of Police (26), Tehsildar (04), Food Supply and Consumer Affairs Officer (02), Block Development & Panchayat Officer (02), Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies (04), Labour and Conciliation Officer (01), Employment Generation and Training Officer (06) and Dy. Superintendent Jails/District Probation Officer (Grade-II) (10).
Candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree in any stream are eligible to apply for the Punjab Civil Service 2020 examination. Candidates who are studying to give the final exam for their degree course are also eligible to apply and appear in the Preliminary stage exam. However, such applicants have to provide proof of passing the exam and acquiring their degree in order to become eligible for the Main stage exam to be conducted later on in the year 2021.
One of the most important eligibility criteria is that all candidates must have passed the Class 10 exam with Punjabi as one of the subjects or any other equivalent exam in the Punjabi language. Furthermore, candidates must be at least 21 years of age in order to apply. The upper age limit is specified at 37 years as on January 01, 2020. However, candidates belonging to special reserved categories including SC, BC, ESM and other categories as per Government norms in vogue.
Candidates who applied earlier for PCS & Allied services posts against the earlier notification are not required to apply again. The online application form can only be submitted through the links available at the official website of PPSC. However, there is no need to send the hard copy of the application form to the office of the PPSC except for those who applied earlier/apply for recruitment under Sports Category.
The aforementioned category of applicants needs to submit a hard copy of the online application form along with Sports Gradation Certificate and other specified documents to the reception of PPSC office by hand before the last date. Similarly, PWD candidates must also submit the hard copy of their online application form with Disability Certificate and other documents to the reception of PPSC.
