Punjab Secondary Education Board (PSEB) is all set to conduct the Punjab State Teacher Eligibility test (PSTET) on December 24, 2021. Admit cards for the exam are scheduled to release tomorrow, December 16, 2021. Although the exact timing for admit card release is not known, one thing is for sure – hall tickets will be released on the official website pstet.pseb.ac.in. Candidates who had successfully registered for the exam can download their admit cards from the official website, once they have released.
In addition to this, candidates must also focus on the PSTET 2021 preparation. With barely 9 days left for the exam, aspirants need to also pay attention to two aspects – syllabus and exam pattern. The key is to score equal to or more than the category cut-off to clear the eligibility test.
Of course, candidates must have already spent adequate time understanding what exactly is coming for the PSTET 2021 exam. However, just for their sake, here’s a quick overview of both aspects before the eligibility test.
PSTET 2021 Syllabus
PSEB will be conducting the PSTET 2021 examination in the form of two papers – Paper I and Paper II. While the former is meant for Class I to V, the latter will be conducted for Class VI to VIII. Following are the subjects to expect in each paper:
# Paper I
- Child Development & Pedagogy
- Language I
- Language II
- Mathematics
- Environmental Studies
# Paper II
- Child Development & Pedagogy
- Language I
- Language II
- Mathematics & Science/Social Science
An important thing to note is that candidates need to study the syllabus relevant to the respective classes. So, for Paper I, a candidate needs to study the syllabus of Class 1-5, Similarly, for Paper II, an aspirant needs to study the portion pertaining to Class 6-8. However, the difficulty level of questions may vary, depending on the questions present in the paper.
PSTET 2021 Exam Pattern
As per official information, the PSTET 2021 exam will be held in the OMR-based pen-and-paper format, for a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes. Moreover, both papers will cover a total of 150 questions, the right answers for which need to be marked in the OMR sheet. Even the marking scheme for both papers will remain the same – 1 mark for every correct answer and 0 marks for every incorrect/unanswered attempt.
For an aspirant’s convenience, the question paper for both exams will be available in Hindi and English language (barring the language sections). So, the only difference between both papers is that while Paper I will feature 5 subjects, Paper II will cover a total of 4 subjects.
