Most likely Patna University will conduct the first state-level Combined Entrance Test (CET). The entrance test will soon be held for admission to B.Ed course in all the teachers’ training colleges running under different universities.
The decision to conduct CET for B.Ed course was taken at the last meeting of vice-chancellors (VC) held at the Raj Bhavan under the chairmanship of governor-cum-chancellor Satya Pal Malik on February 14. So, from the academic year 2018 onwards the admission in B.Ed course will be done on the basis of merit in the entrance test.
BEd course is offered in Patna Training College and Women’s Training College. The chancellor has directed that no admission beyond the decided seats be made in any teachers’ training college. Altogether there are 212 teachers’ training colleges in Bihar, however, most of them have been functioning opposite of all the norms of regulatory bodies like the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
The authorities are all prepping up to conduct the entrance test. Recently, both the chancellor’s office and the state government have initiated a number of steps to streamline teachers’ education in the state. For this, the chancellor’s secretariat in coordination with the state government has fixed the maximum amount of fee to be paid by the candidate seeking admission to the B.Ed course in an affiliated training college.
Also, a team, comprising the officials of the Raj Bhavan and the universities, will be visiting the neighboring states to gather up the details of such entrance tests and to look for the competent agencies which can conduct CET in a fair manner.
The Raj Bhavan has directed the universities to link the salary accounts of teachers serving in different training colleges with their Aadhar numbers. The decision has been taken to keep a check on the impersonators. So now the payment of honorarium or remuneration to the teachers of affiliated training colleges will be made only through Aadhar-linked bank accounts.
As of now, the dates for the release of the application form and exam date are not yet announced. However, it is expected that it shall be available in the month of June 2018.
The application form for CET 2018 shall be available online at the official website of PU, which is. patnauniversity.ac.in. Like most entrance tests, there will be multiple choice questions for the common entrance test.
After the application process will be done, the exam conducting, which in this case is Patna University, will release the Admit Card. It will be available online and will be downloadable by entering the necessary login details. The CET Admit Card will consist of exam details such as its date, timings, and address of the exam center.
Once the Patna University releases the information brochure for CET 2018, the syllabus, exam pattern, eligibility criteria and other necessary information will be clear.
