ONGC Mangalore Petrochemicals Limited is inviting applications for recruitment to Graduate/Technician Apprenticeship Training as per the Apprentices Act, 1961/Apprentices Amendment Act, 1973. The organization has published a detailed advertisement in this regard at the official website i.e. ompl.co.in. Candidates holding relevant qualifications in Engineering at the graduate and diploma level can apply online at the official website starting from December 02, 2020, to January 01, 2021, at the aforementioned website.
As per the official recruitment notification, there are 25 vacancies available in all. Among these 17 vacancies are for Graduate Apprentice posts while the rest are for Technician Apprentice posts. Under the former, vacancies are distributed between the disciplines of Chemical (8), Electrical/Electrical and Electronics (3), Electronics & Communication/Electronics and Instrumentation/Instrumentation (2) and Mechanical (4). On the other hand, vacancies for Technician Apprentice posts are divided across the trades of Chemical (01), Electrical/Electrical and Electronics (3) and Mechanical (4).
Candidates are entitled to receive a monthly stipend amounting to Rs 10000 for Graduate Apprentices and Rs 8000 for Technician Apprentices. The engagement is however for a limited period of time fora duration of 01 year only. However, there are certain minimum eligibility criteria which must be fulfiled by candidates intending to apply for the recruitment.
Applicants must be holding a degree in Engineering in the respective discipline to apply for the Graduate Apprenticeship Trainee posts. Similarly, applicants holding a Diploma in Engineering in the respective discipline can apply for Technician Apprenticeship Trainee posts. One must have secured at least 55% marks in aggregate in their qualifying degree/diploma exams. Candidates must have passed their qualifying degree/diploma programs in the year 2018, 2019 or 2020. Those who are appearing for the exam or awaiting results are not however eligible to apply. Similarly, those who have previously been engaged as apprentice at OMPL or elsewhere under the Apprentices Act, 1961/Apprentices Amendment Act, 1973 are not eligible to apply. Candidates with 1 year or more of post qualification experience are also not eligible.
Selection of the eligible applicants is to be done on the basis of merit determined in terms of the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying degree/diploma exams. Shortlisted candidates have to submit educational documents and caste certificates through email for verification within 7 days from the date of publication of the merit lists at the official website.
