The Delhi Directorate of Education, via its latest notification, has decided to stall all activities related to stage 1 of the National Talent Search Examination or NTSE 2022. The examinations that were supposed to be held in January 2022 now stand canceled until further notice. NCERT has sent a letter to the DoE requesting to cancel the stage 1 examinations. As a result, the examination that was supposed to be held on January 16, 2022, now stands canceled.
As of now, the fresh examination date is yet to be received and will be uploaded as and when information is received from NCERT. Through this notification, the DoE has requested the HoSs of government, aided and unaided recognized private schools of DoE, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, the schools that are administered by NDMC, DCB, etc. to inform this update to all the concerned students of the schools and institutions.
The reason behind stalling the NTSE 2022 stage 1 exam is due to various administrative reasons. Until further notice, the examination cannot be conducted in January 2022 and fresh dates will be notified soon. The recognized institutions should take all necessary steps to inform the students about it.
NTSE 2022 is a national-level examination that is mainly for the students who are studying in class 10. This examination is aimed to identify and nurture the talent of these students. As per reports, for states like Bihar, the admit cards have already been released. Although this examination is aimed at Indian students, the ones who are abroad can also apply. The test primarily evaluates the potential abilities of the students in areas such as logical reasoning, critical thinking, science, mathematics, aptitude, and social sciences.
The examination consists of two papers namely the Mental Ability Test or MAT and the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Both papers have 100 marks for a total of 100 questions. A duration of 2 hours will be allotted for each paper. Reportedly, around 2000 students will be shortlisted via this scholarship who will then be awarded monthly scholarships. Stage 1 of the test is based on the state level while stage 2 is based on the national level.
NTSE 2022 will be conducted in offline pen and paper mode. Its requirement is that the student must be studying in class 10 and their age should be below 18 years. Since the examination for stage 1 now stands postponed, it is advised to be patient and wait until fresh dates are announced.
