National Testing Agency (NTA) is going to release the official answer key and response sheet soon for The National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) 2020. The test was conducted on September 13, 2020 in test centres across the country. The answer key for the same shall be released soon on their official website. The examination was conducted in a pen-paper based format, following all social-distancing norms issued by the Human Resource Department. Multiple unofficial answer keys have been released by coaching institutes for students to calculate their test scores. NEET is the only entrance exam for students aspiring to study MBBS/BDS in prestigious institutes in the country.
NTA is going to release the Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheet and the answer key on their official website. The link for the same is going to be available on the homepage of the website. Candidates just have to click on the ‘NEET 2020 Answer key’ notification to predict their scores. The question paper was divided into four sets named E, F, G and H, each having 6 types.
Candidates can calculate their score by matching the answer given in the answer key with the ones marked in the OMR sheet. They must add 4 marks for every right answer and deduct one mark for every wrong answer. Candidates are also given the option to challenge the answer key in case of any discrepancies. To do so, they must pay a fee of Rs. 1000. Every challenge will be checked by the NTA and necessary changes shall be made. NTA shall release the final answer key for NEET 2020 after updating the changes.
The NEET 2020 result shall also be announced by NTA after releasing the official answer key. NTA calculates the raw scores of each candidate and based on the cut-off marks, determines the rank and the merit list. Exam result shall contain the percentile attained by the candidate and the marks obtained in each subject.
The NEET 2020 merit list for 15% All India Quota candidates and for other seats is released separately by the NTA. The merit list is entirely decided on the percentile rank of candidates. In case of a tie while allotting the rank, different parameters are used to break this tie. The first priority is given to the percentile/marks obtained in Biology. If the marks tally then the marks/percentile in chemistry is given second priority. The third priority is given to the candidates having lesser number of incorrect answers. The final parameter used to break the tie is age. Older candidate shall get a higher rank.
The NEET 2020 answer key and response sheet shall be released soon. Candidates shall be notified about the dates by the conducting body. Due to the COVID19 pandemic, the NEET exam got postponed and was conducted in September 2020. The result for the same shall also be announced in the days to come.
