neet form correction

National Testing Agency (NTA) has once again opened application form correction facility for NEET 2019. As per latest notice, candidates can make corrections in application form until May 31, 2019. Deadline to login and edit details is 5 PM of last date.

This is the last time that NTA is allowing candidates to make necessary changes, before result is announced. As per official schedule, result is supposed to be announced by June 5, 2019.

This time, candidates can edit 5 details. They are father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, gender, category. Any particular reason has not been stated as to why only these changes can be done prior to declaration of NEET Result. Nevertheless, candidates benefit from this move as mistake in these details may have caused problem for them later on.

Candidates must refer official documents like class 10, 12 marksheet and certificate while entering their details. At time of counselling, college where they get admission on basis of NEET 2019 Result will verify these details against such eligibility proof documents.

Exam conducting body NTA makes it clear that after this, no one will be allowed to make any changes in form under any circumstances. On basis of candidate details, their result is announced. Further, these details play an important role in time of admission. On one hand, name and DOB act as identifying factors, gender and category also determine admission. While cut offs are category dependent, admission in some colleges like LHMC is gender depenedent.

It is pertinent to mention here, since close to 11 lakh students have been waiting for this data, that answer key of NEET 2019 is also looked forward to release this week of the next. Window to login to check answer key, responses, and submit objections is expected to be open for 2-3 days.

Last time, exam was held on May 6, and answer key was released on May 25. Candidates could, in previous year, submit objections until May 27. As per medical colleges admission timeline set by higher authorities, result will be out by next week.

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2019 was held on May 5, 2019 all over India except Odisha where it was postponed in view of Cyclone Fani. For Odisha, exam was re-conducted on May 20, 2019.

The exam has been conducted at 147 cities in 2492 centres on fist Sunday of this month. NTA further allowed candidates who were allotted their Examination Centres in Bengaluru and who were travelling by 16591-Hampi Express to Bengaluru on 05/05/2019, and candidates scheduled to appear in Centre No. 460906, Surendra Institute of Engineering & Management, Dhukuria, P.O. New Chamta, Siliguri-734009 in Hindi Medium but could not get question papers in that language to submit their concerns to city coordinators.
