The December registrations has started for Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) National Eligibility Test (NET) today, September 09, 2019. CSIR NET is a national level exam, conducted to determine the eligibility for appointment of Lecturer and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). The candidates can apply online until October 09, 2019 at National Testing Agency’s website for CSIR NET, csirnet.nta.nic.in.
Before applying for the exam, candidates should be aware of the eligibility criteria. Those belonging to general category must possess M.Sc or equivalent degree / integrated BS-MS / BS-4 years / BE / B.Tech / B.Pharma / MBBS with atleast 55 % marks. Whereas, candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC / PwD category, 50 % marks are mandatory.
Another criteria is the age limit. In order to be eligible for JRF NET, candidates must be a maximum of 28 years old. The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC / ST / PwD and female candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates. Whereas the lecturer post, does not have any upper age limit.
To apply for NTA CSIR NET registrations, candidates have to go the official website, csirnet.nta.nic.in and click on fill online application form, and then fill in all the details in the form. Then they need to upload recent passport sized photograph, scanned signature, qualifying marksheets and testimonials, category certificate and PwD certificate. An application number will be auto generated after successful submission of the online application form.
Along with the application form, candidates are required to pay an examination fee of Rs 1000 by general, Rs 500 by OBC non-creamy layer and Rs 250 by SC / ST and PwD. The payment has to be made through credit card / debit card / net banking.
The admit card for CSIR NET for December exam will be available by November 09, 2019. Candidates need to enter their login credentials – registration id and date of birth to download the admit card. Detail such as roll number of the candidate, exam center, exam timings, venue code / center cod, candidates photograph followed by the some exam instructions will be provided in the admit card. Candidates are advised strictly to adhere to the instructions given on the admit card.
During the exam, candidates are required to bring a photo identity card such as voter ID card / pan card / driving license / aadhaar card / photo ID card issued PSU / central / state govt. / ID card issued by university along with a printout of their online e-Admit Card on the day of examination.
The examination is scheduled to be held on December 15, 2019. NTA will conduct the examination in two shifts – morning (9 am to 12 noon) and afternoon (2 pm to 5 pm). The papers in the morning session includes – Life sciences, and physical sciences. Whereas papers in the afternoon session includes – Chemical sciences, Mathematical sciences, and Earth, atmospheric, ocean and planetary sciences. The duration of the exam will be of 3 hours held in a computer based mode.
Two separate merit list will be made, comprising the qualifying candidates of JRF NET and those qualifying in LS NET on the performance of the test. The final result is to be announced on December 31, 2019.
