The applications are invited by Northern Railways for the recruitment of eligible candidates to the post of Senior Resident. The candidates are selected under the Senior Residency Scheme at Northern Railway Central Hospital, New Delhi. Northern Railways has announced a total of 23 vacancies out of which 11 are for Medicine Speciality, 02 for Surgery, 02 for Pediatrics, 04 for Anesthesia, 02 for Radiology, and 02 for Obst. and Gynae speciality. The selection of candidates is on the basis of walk-in-interview. Aspirants have to be present on July 24, 2020, for the interview. They have to abide by the social distancing rules, have to wear mark to avoid COVID-19 spread.
As mentioned earlier, the selection is based on the walk-in-interview round. Candidates have to report with the duly filled application form and self-attested copies of all the required documents. After the verification of the documents, only those candidates are allowed to appear for the interview who possess the requisite educational qualification. They have to report in Auditorium,1st Floor, Academic Block, Northern Railway Central Hospital, New Delhi. The timings for the interview is 08:30 AM to 11:00 AM for all the specialities. In case, the number of candidates is more, the interview is continued on the next date or as decided by conducting body.
Aspirants who are selected as Senior Resident as initially appointed for one year only. Their service is extended up to the maximum period of 03 years depending on the satisfactory work and performance. The 03 years are extended in the form is subsequent two annual extensions. The newly appointed candidates receive Rs.67,700-2,08,700/- as the monthly salary.
Candidates who have a postgraduate degree/diploma in concerned speciality from MCI/NBE can appear for the interview. It is important for candidates to be a postgraduate before they apply to appear for the interview. In case, candidates with PG qualification is concerned speciality is not available than those who have MBBS degree with 03 years experience is considered for the post. Out of these 03 years, one year should be of Junior Residency from a Government Hospital (300 beds or more) or any private hospital (300 beds or more) which is MCI recognised/NBE accredited. Such candidates are appointed for the post only for a period of 01 years. To apply for any of the specialists, candidates must have valid registration with MCI/DMC/State Medical Council.
The age limit of the candidates for Senior Resident Post is calculated as on July 01, 2020. The upper age limit for General/Unreserved category candidates is 37 years, 40 years for OBC and 42 years for SC/ST. If no candidates are found eligible under this age limit then age relaxation is provided. For General/Unreserved category candidates, the upper age limit is relaxed up to 40 years, 43 years for OBC and 45 years for SC/ST.
