New Delhi: Schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) have until October 21, 2026 to submit the List of Candidates (LOC) for the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams 2027 without a late fee. After that, schools can still submit till October 30, but must pay a late fee of Rs 2,000 per student on top of the exam fee. CBSE’s reminder to schools says no extension will be given.
The LOC is the board exam registration for every regular student. The name, date of birth and subjects that the school enters here are what will appear on the student’s admit card and marksheet, so students and parents should check these details now.

What Students and Parents Should Do Now
Most schools share the LOC data with students before final submission. When your school asks you to check, make sure each of these is correct:
- Your name, spelled exactly as in school records.
- Father’s, mother’s or guardian’s name.
- Date of birth. It goes on your Class 10 certificate, which is used as proof of age later.
- Subjects and subject codes. For example, Hindi A or Hindi B, and Mathematics Standard or Basic in Class 10.
- Candidate category: regular, essential repeat or improvement.
- Photograph, if your school has uploaded one.
If anything is wrong, tell your class teacher or school office in writing straight away. Once the LOC is final, changes are possible only in the November 2 to 4 correction window, and some changes may not be allowed at all.

- Enter or upload details of every Class 10 and Class 12 candidate.
- Share the data with students and parents for checking, and fix errors.

- Finalise the LOC and keep a printout of the submitted list.
Private Candidates Apply Separately
The LOC covers only regular students enrolled in CBSE schools. Private candidates, including those appearing for improvement or after failing, fill a separate private candidate form on the CBSE website, with different dates. They should check the notice on cbse.gov.in.
