News is just in that a new time table is out for SSLC class 10th public exam in Tamil Nadu. As per the new TN 10th time table 2020, exams will start twenty five days later, on March 27, 2020. Initially, the exam was supposed to commence on March 2, 2020. Official notifications regarding the same are awaited on official websites.
A few hours ago students suddenly got the word that a new time table for SSLC exams has been released. Everyone rushed to check the official websites but there was no update yet. However a few videos cropped up on Youtube where individuals had posted about the revised time table. In the videos, a pdf file showing dates of all class 10th subjects were shown.
Even then the news was not confirmed. However soon thereafter, a leading news channel of Tamil Nadu posted a news clipping of their channel that was aired today, essentially confirming that yes, class 10th public exams in TN will now be held on the new dates.
If these reports are true, then the new exam dates are as follows. Language paper will be held on Friday, March 27, 2020. Then optional language paper will be on Saturday, March 28, 2020. English paper will be conducted on Tuesday, March 31, 2020. After that social science exam is on Friday, April 3, 2020. Science exam is on Tuesday, April 7, 2020. Last exam is Mathematics on Monday, April 13, 2020.
As per the previously published time table, the exam dates were as given below.
The language paper I was to be on March 17, 2020. Language paper II on March 19, 2020. Option language exam ought to be on March 21, 2020. English paper I date was March 27, 2020. English paper II was going to be on March 30, 2020. Then mathematics test was to be on April 2, 2020. Science date was given as April 7, 2020. And the last test was going to be social science on April 9, 2020.
Even though news channels have reported it, whether exam dates have been changed or not will be confirmed only when the new time table is published on the official website. The Directorate of Government Examinations, Tamil Nadu, publishes public exam time table at dge.tn.gov.in.
Some other official websites of education related bodies in the state are tnschools.gov.in belonging to the Department of School Education, tnscert.org of State Council of Educational Research and Training Tamilnadu. However the SSLC schedule is posted at dge.tn.gov.in only. Nevertheless we have checked all the official websites. At the time of publishing this news, none of them had any revised time table.
As per one of the reports, the date sheet has been revised due to general elections.
Last year, DGE TN conducted the class 10th public exams from March 14 to March 29. The result was announced on April 29. The passing percentage stood at 95.2%. Between 9-10 lakh students were reported to have appeared in the exam.
