Ministry of Defence invites class 10th pass government job aspirants to apply for the post of fireman group C in 45 Company Army Service Corps (Supply) Type B. This post has 15 vacancies. Applications have to be submitted by registered or speed post.
The vacancy distribution is as follows; there are 9 vacancies for unreserved candidates, 2 for SC, and 4 for OBC. To be eligible as a fireman, applicants must be familiar with the use and maintenance if first-aid, fire fighting appliances and trailer fire pump. Also, it is required to be physically fit and be capable of performing the task allotted to the members of the fire crew.
The minimum age limit to apply for the post of fireman is 18 years and maximum is 25 years. The upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years for OBC categories, and 5 years for SC / ST categories and the candidates who have originally been domiciled in the state of Jammu and Kashmir during a period from 01-01-1980 to 31-12-1989.
The format of the application is given in appendix A to B of the notification, published in employment news. Candidates need to download the format and either type details in it, or fill it with blue ink ball point pen. Eight documents have to be attached with it. They are education qualification certificate, caste certificate, discharge certificate where applicable (for ex-serviceman), birth certificate, domicile certificate, aadhar card, character cert ( not older than 6 months).
With these, candidates have to enclose two self addressed envelope, with postal stamp of Rs 25. The last date until which Army Service Corps shall accept applications is 30 days from the notification first appearing in employment news.
What will be the selection process for 10th pass govt job, fireman, in Army Service Corps?
There are three steps to go through – written test, physical test, practical test. However only marks of the written exam will be used for selection. The other two will be qualifying in nature. To start with, fireman in Army Service Corps should possess a height of 165 cms, chest (un-expanded) of 81.5 cms, chest (on-expanded) of 85 cms and a minimum weight of 50 kgs. These measurement will be checked in Physical test. Those who qualify the physical test, will have to appear in the endurance test, wherein they have to life a man of 65.5 kgs to a distance of 183 meters within 96 seconds, clear 2.7 meters wide ditch landing on both feet (long jump), climbing 3 meters vertical rope using hands and feet.
The written examination will be have 100 multiple choice questions of 100 marks. It will comprise of questions on general intelligence, english language, numerical aptitude, general awareness (trade specific). There will be negative marking of 0.25 for each incorrect answers. Candidates have to secure a minimum marks of 33 % to be considered in the merit list.
After that there will be a document verification round to be held at Reception Centre (Recruitment Cell) of 45 Company Army Service Corps (Supply) Type ‘B’. No separate letter will be issued for the same. The tests will be conducted over a period of 6-8 days. Candidates have to appear to bear the lodging / boarding / travelling at it own.
