National Board of Education (NBE) is going to announce the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) MDS 2021 results tentatively by December 31, 2020. Results shall be available on the official website i.e. nbe.edu.in for candidates to check their scores. Subsequently, eligible candidates shall be asked to appear for the counselling session as per the specified time, date and venue. Through NEET MDS 2021, candidates can get admission for various postgraduate dental courses. Admission to government and private institutes shall be done based on merit and candidate priority.
NEET MDS 2021 Candidates can check their result on the official website of the conducting body. To download their result, candidates need a reliable internet connection and a compatible web browser. On the official website, students must enter their username and password. After doing so, they can download their scorecard in the pdf format. They are advised to print a copy of the same for future reference. Candidates must bear in mind that there is no re-evaluation or re-checking facility given by the authorities. Moreover, these results shall only be valid for the current academic session i.e., 2021 academic year.
NBE prepares the result of all candidates by calculating their raw scores. Each correct answer is allotted 4 marks while 1 mark is deducted for every wrong answer. The score calculated using this scheme is used to calculate the percentage and the subsequent percentile of the candidate. Based on the percentiles, three ranks of the candidate are displayed in the scorecard.
Authorities have also specified the eligibility criteria for participating in the NEET MDS 2021 counselling session after the declaration of results. According to the information bulletin, general and EWS category candidates must score 50th percentile or above to be eligible for the counselling session. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (including PwD of SC/ST/OBC) must score 40th percentile or more to be eligible. UR PwD candidates are required to score the 45th percentile or more to appear for the counselling session.
NBE also follows certain tie-breaking criteria to assign ranks to candidates who have scored the same marks in the entrance exam. Candidate having lesser number of negative responses in part A and part B are given a higher rank. In case the tie persists, the candidate obtaining better marks in part B of the paper is given a higher merit position. In case the tie doesn’t break, the candidate with lesser number of negative responses in part B shall be given a higher merit rank. Lastly, the older candidate shall be given a higher merit position to break the tie.
NEET MDS 2021 was conducted on December 16, 2020, across the country in a computer-based format. Results for the same are expected by December 31, 2020. Subsequently, authorities shall release the merit list and counselling schedule for eligible candidates.
