To the delight of NEET 2022 aspirants, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the registration deadline to May 15, 2022. In a public notice issued on Sunday, May 01, 2022, NTA informed students about the deadline extension, citing an important reason. This year, the Indian Army has decided on admitting students for the 4-year B.Sc Nursing course through NEET scores. So, to give more time for such candidates to fill and submit the form, the deadline has been extended.
Previously, the NEET 2022 registration was scheduled to end on May 6, 2022, 11:50 pm. Candidates had time up to May 07, 2022, 11:50 pm, for successful transaction of application fee. However, these dates are no longer valid as the registration deadline has been extended by 9 days.
Decision of Indian Army
As per the official notice, Director General, Armed Forces Medical Services has decided on admitting ONLY female candidates for the B.Sc. Nursing Course through NEET UG scores.

Eligible candidates will be granted a seat in any one of the 6 nursing colleges managed by the Indian Army. These colleges are as follows –
# College of Nursing, AFMC Pune – 40 seats
# College of Nursing, CH (EC) Kolkata – 30 seats
# College of Nursing, INHS Asvini, Mumbai – 40 seats
# College of Nursing, AH (R&R) New Delhi – 30 seats
# College of Nursing, CH (CC) Lucknow – 40 seats
# College of Nursing, CH (AF) Bangalore – 40 seats
As evident in the distribution of seats mentioned above, the Indian Army plans on filling-up a total of 220 seats under B.Sc. Nursing 2022 course. In addition to qualifying NEET UG 2022, a candidate must also fulfil other eligibility criteria specified by the organisation on joinindianarmy.nic.in.
NEET UG 2022 Deadline Extended
Citing Indian Army’s decision as the reason for extension, NTA has revised the NEET UG 2022 deadline. Accordingly, the last date to apply for the medical entrance exam is May 15, 2022, 9:00 pm. Thereafter, the last date to pay the application fee is May 15, 2022, 11:50 pm.
It is important to note that there is no change in the NEET 2022 exam date. So, the national-level entrance exam will be held on July 17, 2022, through the OMR-based pen-and-paper mode.
