The National Testing Agency (NTA) is yet to release the NEET 2021 form and exam date. However, the decision and announcement in this regard are expected this month as per various reports. Until then, the students appearing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) must have a target in mind that they need to score in NEET 2021 so that they can get into their dream Medical college. To help the students with that, we have provided below the NEET cutoff rank for the top medical colleges in the nation from last year. All the below ranks are provided for the general category and the All India Quota seats.
To qualify for the NEET AIQ seats candidates have to score 50 percentile, 45 percentile, and 45 percentile against the General, SC/ST/OBC/SC/ST/OBC-PH, and Unreserved-PH categories respectively.
Last year the candidates in rank bracket 720-147 scored 50 percentile in the UR category. Candidates in rank bracket 146-113 scored 40 percentile in the SC/ST/OBC category. Further, candidates in rank bracket 146-129 scored 45 percentile in the Unreserved-PH category. And, candidates in rank bracket 128-113 scored 40 percentile in the SC/ST/OBC-PH category.
Now talking about the cutoff for the top medical colleges of the nation, we have AIIMS New Delhi at the top of the list. In AIIMS New Delhi, seats are allotted in the All India Quota Category. Last year all MBBS / BDS seats in the General category were filled in the first round of counselling itself. The last rank until which admission was in AIIMS New Delhi was 51. Taking about JIPMER, last year in JIPMER Puducherry the last rank up to which admissions were made in MBBS / BDS seats is 239 in the general category.
Talking about another most sought-after college which is the Maulana Azad Medical College, the NEET last rank for admission was 89 in the general category last year. VMMC Safdarjung hospital took admission up to NEET rank 138 last year in the general category.
The University college of Medical Science admitted candidates upto NEET rank 292 in the general category. The same was 400th NEET rank for the Lady Harding Medical College in the general category.
State Wise Top medical Colleges and Their NEET Cutoff from Last Year
The top 3 medical colleges in the state of Kerala are Government Medical College Kozhikode, Government Medical College Thiruvananthapuram, and Government Medical College Kottayam. The NEET last rank last year in the general category were 926, 1078, and 1578 respectively.
For the state of Rajasthan the top 3 medical colleges are SMS Medical College Jaipur wit NEET last rank last year 1212 in the general category; followed by RUHS College of Medical Sciences, Jaipur with last rank 2554 in the same category; and Sardar Patel Medical College Bikaner with NEET last rank in general category is 2705.
In Madhya Pradesh, the top 3 medical colleges are MGM Medical College Indore, Gandhi Medical College Bhopal, and GR Medical College Gwalior. For these colleges, the NEET cutoff rank last year in the general category was 3270, 4298, and 5921 respectively.
In Haryana, the top 3 medical colleges are Pt. BD Sharma PGIMS, Rohtak; Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College, Karnal; and BPS Government Medical College, Sonepat. For these colleges, the NEET cutoff rank last year in the general category was 2009, 4572, and 5633 respectively.
In Bihar, the top 3 medical colleges are Patna Medical College; Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences; and Nalanda Medical College. For these colleges, the NEET cutoff rank last year in the general category was 3288, 4997, and 6113 respectively.
For the West Bengal state, the top 3 medical colleges are Medical College, Kolkata; Institute of PG Medical Education and Research, Kolkata; and Nilratan Sirkar Medical College, Kolkata. The last rank of NEET last year for these colleges last year were 1988, 3582, and 5015 respectively.
Similarly, for the state of Odisha, the top medical colleges are SCB Medical College; MKCG Medical College And Hospital, Brahmapur; and Veer Surendra Sai Institute Of Medical Sciences And Research. Their NEET cutoff rank in the general category last year was 2685, 7081, and 9632 respectively.
In Jharkhand, the top medical colleges and their NEET last rank in the general category last year were: Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences with 4788; Patliputra Medical College with 7509; and MGM Medical College & Hospital, Jamshedpur with 8088.
In Chhattisgarh, the top medical colleges are Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru Memorial Medical College, Raipur; Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences; and Late Shri Lakhi Ram Agrawal Memorial Government Medical College. Their NEET cutoff rank in the general category last year was 6689, 8430, and 10073 respectively.
In Andhra Pradesh the most sought-after colleges are Andhra Medical College; Guntur Medical College; and Kurnool Medical College. Their NEET last rank last year in the general category has been 4459, 7063, and 8148 respectively.
Coming to the state of Telangana, the top medical college and their last NEET rank in the general category are Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Secunderabad with 2215 rank; Osmania Medical College Koti with 3456 rank; andKakatiya Medical College Warangal with 9637 rank.
In Tamil Nadu state the top 3 medical colleges are Madras Medical College, Chennai; Stanley Medical College, Chennai; and Government Kilpauk Medical College. Their NEET last rank in the general category last year were 841, 2258, and 3593 respectively.
In Karnataka state, the top 3 medical colleges are Bangalore Medical College, Bangalore; Mysore Medical College And Research Institute; and Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences. Their NEET last rank in the general category last year were 1407, 3001, and 5657 respectively.
In Punjab, the most sought-after colleges are Government Medical College Patiala; Government Medical College Amritsar; and Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital. Their NEET last rank last year in the general category has been 4244, 5153, and 6203 respectively.
Now in Himachal Pradesh, the most sought-after colleges are Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla; Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College; and Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Hospital Nerchowk. Their NEET last rank last year in the general category has been 3068, 5236, and 6808 respectively.
In Uttarakhand state we have Govt Doon Medical college, Dehradun and Government Medical College, Haldwani with NEET cutoff rank in the general category last year being 7941 and 9130 respectively.
In Chandigarh, we have the Government Medical College & Hospital, Chandigarh with NEET last rank in general category being 634 lat year.
In Meghalaya, Tripura, and Mizoram, the medical colleges with NEET cutoff rank in the general category last year are NEIGRIHMS, Shillong with 8913; Agartala Government Medical College & Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital with 12209; and Zoram Medical College with 12353 respectively.
In the state of Assam, the most sought-after colleges are Guwahati Medical College, Guwahati; Silchar Medical College, Silchar; and Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital, Barpeta. Their NEET last rank last year in the general category has been 7200, 11420, and 12103 respectively.
In Arunachal Pradesh we have 1 college in the AIQ quota which is Tomo Riba Institute Of Health And Medical Sciences. The NEET last rank in this college last year in the general category was 12303.
In Manipur, there are 2 colleges in the AIQ. These are the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences and Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal. The NEET last rank in these colleges last year in the general category were 9415 and 11727 respectively.
