Today, October 14, 2021, is the last date to make corrections in the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) 2021 application form. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be closing the application correction window at 11:50 pm. Thus, after this deadline, candidates will not be able to make any changes or rectifications in their applications. Hence, they only have a few hours’ time to avail this correction facility on the official website neet.nta.nic.in. Once the correction facility ends, NTA is likely to release the NEET 2021 OMR sheets and the provisional answer key soon.
Recently, NTA released a public notice announcing the extension of the deadline to correct the NEET 2021 application form. The agency had received multiple requests from students and hence, took this decision. Candidates could then correct their particulars latest by October 14, 2021, till 11:50 pm. This facility permits them to correct few fields in the first phase along with the second phase of the application. The first phase fields that can be corrected include gender, nationality, email address, category and sub-category.
The public notice also stated in no uncertain terms that this would be the last opportunity for candidates to make changes in the NEET 2021 application form. Apart from this, no other facility will be provided to correct the form. Moreover, NTA will not be accepting any requests or exceptions in this regard. Keeping the correction facility’s deadline in mind, candidates are advised to skim through their application and make changes wherever necessary.
Once the correction window ends, NTA will be releasing the NEET 2021 OMR sheets and the provisional answer key together on the official website neet.nta.nic.in. By doing so, it will make things simpler for candidates to calculate their tentative exam score. They can simply compare their marked OMR sheet with the provisional answer key and apply the prescribed marking scheme to determine the score.
In case a candidate finds faults in the NEET 2021 provisional answer key, he/she can raise an issue against these faults using the objection facility provided by the agency. This objection facility will remain open for 1-2 days giving candidates adequate time to raise their objections. However, these objections must be accompanied by proper representation and reasoning. Only then will the agency consider them and if valid, make changes in the provisional answer key. NTA will be accommodating all such valid objections in the provisional draft and finally, release the official answer key along with the NEET 2021 results. To stay on track with these important events, candidates are advised to visit the official portal frequently.
