National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) is inviting online application to fill up 12 vacancies for the post of Junior Research Fellows (JRFs). The vacancies are under the PAC approved a project called Evaluation of Textbooks in Science and Mathematics at Upper Primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary (Pac Code 6.01). Eligible and willing candidates can apply online by forwarding their application to the Department of Education in Science & Mathematics as specified in the official employment notification. The last date of receipt of applications is July 27, 2020. Candidates can check out the official notification and other details at the official NCERT website i.e. ncert.nic.in.
As per the detailed recruitment notification advertised by NCERT, there are 08 vacancies in the Science stream and 04 vacancies in the Mathematics stream under the aforementioned project. Selected candidates are to be appointed for a temporary period until the project is active. Candidates are advised to go through the detailed notification and ensure that they comply with the minimum eligibility conditions before sending their applications. Selected candidates are appointed for a tenure ending tentatively on March 31, 2021. During this period, candidates are entitled to receive consolidated remuneration of Rs 25000 per month. Non-NET qualified candidates are entitled to consolidated monthly remuneration of Rs 23000.
Candidates within the upper age limit of 40 years can apply for the recruitment. It is essential that candidates have a Master’s degree in Physics/Chemistry/Biology/Zoology/Botany/Life Science/Bio-Sciences/Bio-Chemistry/Environmental Science/Biomathematics. Candidates with an M.Sc. degree in Mathematics/Mathematics Education or in the relevant discipline along with a minimum of 55% marks are also eligible to apply for the recruitment. For candidates with such qualifications and belonging to SC/ST or PH category, the minimum qualifying marks required to apply is 50%.
It is however desirable that candidates have a degree or diploma in Education. Knowledge of Computer Applications is an added desirable qualification. In addition, candidates who have appeared and qualified in the National Eligibility Test (NET) are also preferred as desirable qualification. Such candidates who comply with these aforementioned eligibility conditions and are willing to apply for the recruitment can forward their applications in the prescribed manner.
Applications can be sent in the prescribed proforma in addition to the attachments of the soft copies of educational/ professional qualifications & other supporting documents. Candidates must note that the appointments are made on a temporary basis till the end of the tenure. Candidates who have previously been employed as JRF with the Council for two and half years are not eligible to apply for the recruitment. The selection of eligible applicants is to be done through interviews. The details of the interview are communicated over the phone or through email to the shortlisted applicants.
