Mahalanobis National Crop Forecast Center (MNCFC) has published an official recruitment advertisement to fill up 02 vacancies. The vacancies are to be filled up on a contractual basis for the post of Consultant. All the complete details of the recruitment, including the selection procedure, eligibility conditions, and other terms & conditions of recruitment can be checked from the notice published at ncfc.gov.in. Eligible candidates who are interested in recruitment to the advertised post must apply online at the website before the last date i.e. August 15, 2020.

As per the advertisement, there are 02 vacancies available for the post of Consultant. The vacancies are to be filled up on a temporary basis through a Service Provider, engaged by MNCFC. These vacancies are under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna (PMFBY) project of MNCFC. Numerous pilot studies are being conducted through various agencies. Therefore, candidates appointed to these posts are required to engage in extensive traveling across different parts of the country for the monitoring and management of the program. appointed candidates are entitled to receive a consolidated monthly payment of Rs 1,00,000.

Candidates must fulfil the specified minimum eligibility conditions before applying online. The maximum permissible age of the applicants is 60 years as of July 31, 2020. However, retired scientists/officials from Government/Autonomous organizations are eligible to apply up to the age of 65 years. Candidates must have an M.Sc. Degree in Agriculture, Statistics, or Remote Sensing & GIS. Those having Ph.D. qualifications in Agriculture, Statistics, or Remote Sensing & GIS are also eligible to apply. In addition, candidates must have a minimum experience of 10 years (8 years for Ph.D. holders) in any of the fields of Remote Sensing Applications in Agriculture, Agriculture Statistics/Field Surveyor Crop Modelling/Crop Yield Estimation. Candidates who have National/State Level Project Management experience related to natural resources or a minimum of 05 published peer-reviewed journals are also eligible to apply.

Selected candidates are to be appointed for a contractual period of 6 months at MNCFC, New Delhi. The contract period is subject to extension depending on the performance of the candidate and the project completion. The screening of the applicants is done on the basis of their eligibility and merit. The merit is calculated on the basis of academic performance and experience based on Curriculum Vitae. Only those candidates who qualify through the initial screening process are called for interviews in New Delhi. The interviews may also be conducted online if required. The final selection is based on marks secured. 50% marks weightage is for the interview and 50% is based on the CV of the candidate.
