Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition has published employment notification for recruitment to the post of Assistant Lecturer (Regular) and Teaching Associate (on contract basis), with vacancies to be filled in the Institutes of Hotel Management (IHM) Bangalore. The total number of vacancies available for Assistant Lecture post are 4. There is 1 vacancy for each of the categories UR, OBC, SC, ST. Scale of pay for the post of Assistant Lecturer shall be according to pay level 6 (as per 7th CPC Rs. 35,400-1,12,400). Whereas, the vacancies in post of Teaching Associates are 03; for them salary shall be a consolidated Rs. 25000/- per month associateship amount.

Candidates must fill the application with latest bio-data and send it to the institute with self-attested copies of certificates and recent passport size photograph else the application will be rejected. Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before applying for the post. There are two eligibility criteria for both posts which are educational and other qualification and age limit. The common education qualification for Assistant Lecturer and Teaching Associate is that the candidate must have qualified NHTET conducted by NCHMCT with prescribed percentage. Nevertheless, this condition is not applicable on candidates who have a PhD degree in Hospitality / Hotel Management, they can apply for the posts without an NHTET qualification.

There are two categories for the educational qualifications for the post of Assistant Lecturer. According to category ‘A’ education qualification criteria, the candidate must be Post Graduate in Hospitality, Tourism or MBA from a recognized University / Institute. Also, the candidate must have has completed full-time Degree and three-year Diploma in Hotel Administration / Hospitality Management / Hotel Management / Hospital Administration / Culinary Arts / Culinary Science with 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade from the institute affiliated by NCHMCT / NCHMCT either approved by AICTE & SBTE or Including this, the affiliating university or the central / state / deemed to be university must be duly recognized by UGC or equivalent degree / diploma of foreign university / institutions recognized by AIU.
According to category B education qualification criteria, the candidate must holds a full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality / Hotel Administration / Hotel Management / Culinary Art from a recognized university / Institute with 55% marks in aggregate and two year industry experience of hospitality.
The desired qualification for the post is, candidate having PhD degree and six months working experience in a 3 start or above category hotel. As per the age limit criteria, the age of a candidate must not exceed 35 years (as on December 01, 2019). There are 5 years upper age relaxation for SC / ST and department candidates and as for other categories by the government from time to time. The selection of the candidates is based on skill test and interview.

Candidates who apply for this post must have a full time Bachelor’s and master degree in Hospitality & Hotel Administration / Management after 10+2 from a recognized university or should have completed full time bachelor’s degree in Hospitality & Hotel Administration / Management after 10+2 from are recognized university with not less than 60% marks in aggregate and atleast 2 years industry experience. While the age of the candidate must not exceed 30 years as on December 01, 2019. There is a 5 years upper age relaxation in case of SC/ST.
