Science Olympiad Foundation has now released the answer key of National Science Olympiad 2019 set B. NSO answer key 2019 for set B is the set of solutions for the exam that was held on November 21, 2019. The answer keys have been published as pdf files that can be downloaded by anyone, without login, from the website.
Earlier, the answer key of set A was released on December 2, for exam that had been held on November 11, 2019.
To download the answer keys, candidates need to visit sofworld.org and navigate to the answer keys page where they will find one link for SOF NSO Answer Keys Set B. That link leads to the page that contains class wise set B answer keys for classes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12.
Each answer key contains a table with question number and answers. Answers are indicated as the option number of the correct answer. Based on this key, candidates papers will be evaluated and they will get marks out of the maximum marks as per it. Unofficial answer keys published by coaching centers prior to this announcement are not going to be considered.
The next important event for NSO 2019-2020 is the declaration of its result. As per NSO FAQs given at sofworld.org, the result will be announced within 8 weeks of exam. On that basis, and also looking at the timeline of results of other SOF olympiads, it is anticipated that the result of National Science Olympiad will be announced by mid-January 2020.
It may be noted that though answer keys have been published on separate dates, the result will indeed be declared together for both exam dates. Candidates can check sofworld.org or the SOF exams facebook page at regular intervals for updates regarding the same.
Merit and ranking in the olympiad, which ultimately determines whether one will get scholarship amount or not, or what prize one will get, is purely on the basis of marks obtained in the exam. While classes 1st to 4th students will get marks out of 40, those in all other classes will get out of 60.
Class 1 and 2 students will directly be determined for awards on the basis of NSO 2019-2020 held on November 11 and 21, 2019, which is referred to as level 1. However for other classes, this level 1 acts as the stepping stone for level 2; a limited number of participants of level 1 will be shortlisted to appear in level 2.
Other than the NSO exam, SOF has already conducted and announced results of IGKO (International General Knowledge Olympiad), IEO (International English Olympiad). IMO (International Mathematics Olympiad) has been held on one date, December 5, 2019, and is yet to be held on the second date December 17, 2019. NCO (National Cyber Olympiad) and ICO (International Commerce Olympiad) share their exam dates, their dates are November 28, 2019, and December 19, 2019. For all its exams, SOF publishes answer keys and results at sofworld.org.
