The Ministry of Education (MoE) has announced the exam date of JNVST class 6 admissions for 2021-22. According to the Ministry, the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test or JNVST 2021 for the selection of students for admission to class 6 for the session 2021-22 will now be held on August 11, 2021, at 11,182 exam centers. The examination will be held following all safety precautions and COVID protocols.
As many as 2,41,7009 candidates have registered for the JNVST class 6 admission selection test. The test is proposed to be conducted for the selection of candidates on a total of 47,320 seats in 661 Navodaya Vidyalayas sanctioned in 27 states and 08 union territories.
The application portal to download the admit card for JNVST shall be activated shortly by NVS in due course which will be displayed on the application portal.
Usually the JNVST admit card is issued 30-35 days before the exam. Since the revised exam date for this year’s NVS class 6 exam has just been announced, and not as many days are left for the test, therefore NVS is expected to release admit card as soon as possible. Students may expect the admit cards this week.
The candidates and Principals concerned to conduct the JNVST 2021 for Class VI admissions, shall download the admit cards once it is released. The admit cards shall be downloaded free of cost by the candidates/parents before the conduct of JNVST. All the candidates shall appear for the JNVST 2021 at the examination center allotted to them as indicated on the admit card. No candidate is permitted to appear from any other center.

Admissions in JNVs are made through the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) to Class VI. The medium of instruction in JNVs is the mother tongue or regional language up to Class VIII and thereafter English for Mathematics and Science and Hindi for Social Science. The candidates who qualify in the selection test will be eligible for admission into Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in all States & UTs.

According to the JNVST examination scheme, the class 6 selection test will be conducted in English, Hindi, and the regional languages of each state. The admission test will be held for a duration of 2 hours. The examination consists of 80 objective-type questions carrying a total of 100 marks. In the entrance test, a total of 80 questions will be asked from Mental Ability Test, Arithmetic Test, and Language test.
Earlier on June 1, the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test was postponed due to the then COVID-19 situation across the country. This exam was supposed to be held on June 19, 2021. While postponing the examination, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti stated that the new exam date notice will be notified 15 days in advance of the date of examination.
