JKPSC KAS 2021

The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) will be conducting the preliminary stage of Kashmir Administrative Services (KAS) on October 24, 2021. A total of 197 vacancies is set to be filled through this recruitment drive. Admit cards for JKPSC KAS 2021 prelims exam can now be downloaded from the official website – jkpsc.nic.in.

The preliminary stage of JKPSC KAS 2021 consists of two papers namely General Studies-I and General Studies-II. Both of these papers will follow an objective-type (MCQ based) pattern and total a maximum of 200 marks. For every question, there will be four alternative answers out of which the right answer has to be selected. However, for every incorrect answer, one-third (0.33) of the marks allotted to that question will be deducted.

With the remaining six days left for the JKPSC KAS 2021 prelims examination, here are six important things that aspirants can do for a robust preparation.

#1. Brush up the Reasoning section. Solve as many questions from cubes and dices, numbers and letters series, coding-decoding, clock and calendar, direction sense and blood relation, etc. Previously, around two questions from puzzles were asked. So, practice them accordingly.

#2. In the English section, candidates can expect 25 to 30 questions from comprehension, reading, keywords, etc. During this time, candidates can stress the comprehension part and solve as many questions as possible.

#3. Percentage is a very important topic for the Quantitative Aptitude section. Experts advise that aspirants should have a clear idea of this topic. Hence, if one is not thorough with this portion, then they can look up this topic from whatever materials they have. Alternatively, one can also go through some YouTube videos for quick revision.

#4. Coming to the Current Affairs section, candidates must habitually read newspapers like The Hindu, The Indian Express, etc. However, if one is not comfortable in reading them, they can go through the monthly magazines and compilations released by various coaching institutes. The one by Vision IAS was seen to be helpful for some aspirants.

#5. A material named PT365 is available that former aspirants have recommended right before the prelims examination. This supplementary current affairs material is helpful during the last stage of JKPSC KAS 2021 prelims preparation. It will help aspirants cover the Current Affairs section entirely.

#6. Lastly, increase the number of mock tests. Ideally, one should attempt one mock test in the morning and one in the evening. Revise those concepts in which there are doubts. However, do not attempt anything new during this time.
