The National Testing Agency (NTA) has not yet released the commencement date for the JEE Main 2022 application process. Just like the yesteryears, for the upcoming session, the entrance examinations will be conducted four times in 2022. The notification for the February session is awaited on the official NTA website – nta.ac.in. Like previous years, for the JEE Main 2022 February session, students are likely to get a month’s time to submit the applications.
Let’s take a look at the previous application dates of JEE Mainsessions. For the JEE Main 2021 February session, the registration process began on December 16, 2020, and ended on January 16, 2021. Applications for the same were received at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Similarly, for the first JEE Main 2020 session, the registration process began on September 03, 2019, and ended on September 30, 2019. Likewise, for the JEE Main 2019 first attempt, the application process began on September 01, 2018, and ended on September 30, 2018.
However, it is clear that for JEE Main 2019 and 2018, the application process took place in the month of September. Now, this has not been the case for the upcoming JEE Main 2022 session. Based on the JEE Main registration trends for the last three years, it is likely that the JEE Main 2022 application forms for the first attempt will be released soon. Hence, it is likely that the application forms will be available at any time in the upcoming months. Although at this point it is difficult to predict a fixed date for the commencement of the application process, it is likely the same will begin on or before December 2021. Even though the examination will take place next year, the application process has a high chance of beginning from this year onwards.
The NTA notice regarding the commencement of applications is likely to release a day before the process begins. Previously, the notice was even released on the same day itself. Nevertheless, candidates are advised to keep an eye on the official NTA website.
So far, there has been no age limit to apply for the JEE Main exam. In terms of educational qualification, the candidate must have passed class 12 or an equivalent examination. Moreover, the class 12 pursuing students are also eligible to apply. There are no restrictions in terms of the number of attempts for which one can take the JEE Main examination. These basic eligibility requirements are likely to remain the same for JEE Main 2022. Till 2018, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) was conducting the JEE Main exams. However, from 2019 onwards, it was NTA that took over the process.
