JEE Main 2021 Session 4 Day 1 Analysis: Both Shifts Turn Out Moderately Difficult; These Were The High Weightage Topics

NTA conducted the first day of the JEE Main 2021 Session 4 exam today on August 26, 2021 in two shifts. The overall level of difficulty was moderate.

JEE Main 2021 Session 4 Day 1 Analysis

After much delay and ado, the National Testing Agency has finally commenced the fourth and final session of the Joint Entrance Exam Main 2021 today. Both shifts of the JEE Main 2021 exam are over today on August 26, 2021, and overall, the level of difficulty of today’s exam, across both shifts was moderate.

JEE Main 2021 Exam Analysis of August 23, 2021, is available here for both shifts. The first shift exam was held in the morning from 09.00 AM to 12.00 PM while the second shift exam was held in the evening from 03.00 PM to 06.00 PM.

Level of Difficulty

The post-exam analysis of the JEE Main 2021 session 4 shift 1 exam indicates that the overall level of difficulty of the exam was moderate i.e., neither too easy, nor too difficult. However, candidates reported that in the first shift, the level of difficulty of the Mathematics paper was of the moderate to difficult level while Physics was of the moderate level. Candidates reported that the level of difficulty of Numerical Value Type questions in Mathematics was of the moderate level. The paper on Chemistry was the easiest and overall, the level of difficulty of this paper was of the easy to moderate level.

Important Topics

The JEE Main 2021 session 4 question paper was set as per the specified syllabus and as per memory-based reports from those who took the test, Calculus formed an important topic in the Mathematics section of the first shift exam held today. Besides Calculus, Co-ordinate Geometry and Three Dimensional Geometry based questions also carried significant weightage of marks. In addition, questions were also asked from Probability and Vector in Mathematics.

In Physics, Modern Physics and Electrodynamics based questions held significant weightage of marks in the first shift exam held today. Besides, Mechanics also formed a significant topic and many questions were asked from Mechanics. In the Chemistry section, both organic and inorganic chemistry based questions were asked. Some of the most important topics from Chemistry in the first shift exam were Co-ordination compounds, Ionic equilibrium, Electrochemistry and Chemistry in Everyday Life.

Good Attempts

With the overall level of difficulty of the shift 1 exam of JEE Main 2021 session 4 held today being moderate to difficult, at the minimum level, the overall number of good attempts is envisaged to be in the range of 40 to 42 out of 75 questions while at the maximum, the overall number of good attempts can go as high as 55+ for those who have studied very hard for the exam.

Level of Difficulty

As per reports and students’ reactions post the completion of the JEE Main 2021 session 4 shift 2 exams, the overall level of difficulty of the question paper in the shift 2 exam held today was of the moderate difficulty level. Candidates who took the test indicated that in the second shift, the level of difficulty of the paper on Physics was a little more difficult compared to the shift 1 exam. Overall, the level of difficulty of Physics was of the moderate to difficult level. On the other hand, compared to the first shift exam, the paper on Mathematics in the second shift exam was of the easy to moderate level. The level of difficulty of the Chemistry paper was of the easy to moderate level.

Important Topics

Candidates reported that the maximum questions in the JEE Main 2021 question paper of today’s second shift exam were NCERT based. As per post-exam student reactions, formula based numerical questions prevailed throughout the question paper on each topic. Those who took the test in the second shift today reported that , in Chemistry, more weightage was given to inorganic Chemistry based topics in this shift.

Good Attempts

The overall level of difficulty of the JEE Main 2021 session 4 exams held today on August 26, 2021, in the second shift was of the moderate to difficult level. On such premise, we envisage that the overall number of good attempts can be in the range of 55 to 57 out of 75 questions.
