JEE Main 2019 Live Update For 8 April: Check Student Reaction And Analysis For Both Shifts

From April 08, 2019 the JEE Main 2019 Paper 1 exam starts. The exam will be held on April 08, 09, 10 and 12, 2019. On each day the exam is to be held in 2 shifts. Shift 1 from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and then from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. For the JEE Main 2019 April attempt, 10,51,508 candidates have registered for the exam. Out of which 1,15,767 candidates had already appeared for the paper 2 exam yesterday on April 07, 2019. The rest of the 9,35,741 will take the JEE Main 2019 paper 1 exam over a period of 4 days and in 2 shifts.

6:30 PM | As Day 1 of JEE Main Apr 2019 Paper 1 for both the shifts has ended, one can check the question paper and answer key released by several coaching institutes. Check the same from here.


6:00 PM | As per student’s reaction, the toughest section was the Physics section, while the easiest of all the 3 was the Chemistry section. Maths section had “moderate” level of questions. To know the detailed Shift 2 analysis, click here.


5:30 PM | JEE Main 2019 Apr session Shift 2 ends! Catch the live session from the link provided below.


5:15 PM | NTA releases the normalised scores as the NTA score, so as to provide a fair score to all the candidates appearing in this exam in different shifts.


5:00 PM | Half an hour more to go, as parents eagerly wait for their students outside the exam centre.


4:45 PM | For Shift 2, all candidates were advised to report at their respective exam centres by 2 pm.


4:30 PM | `JEE Main 2019 April session for B.Arch/ B.plan aspirants was only conducted for one day (that was on April 7 in 2 shifts). For B.E/B.Tech aspirants, this national level exam will be conducted for 3 more days.


4:15 PM | JEE Main 2019 April session for Shift 2 is currently being held across 267 cities, 9 of which lies outside India.


4:00 PM | Paper 1 Shift 2 for today will end at 5:30 pm. We will get you the live student’s reaction, then as well (as we did for Shift 1!).


3:45 PM | Due to smooth proceeding of the JEE Main 2019 Shift 1 exam, candidates seem to favor the online mode over the offline mode, to appear for this exam.


3:30 PM | Reportedly, no technical glitches were faced by any candidates in the Gurgaon JEE Main 2019 April session centre.


3:00 PM | In the Shift 1, most of the questions in Physics section came from self conductors, EM waves and mechanics whereas, in the Maths section, most of the questions were NCERT based. In Chemistry section, most questions came from the organic part.

2:00 PM | As per the candidates the shift 1 was easier as compared to the January exam. There were many questions from Thermodynamics in Physics, in Maths, many questions came from trigonometry and 3D. In chemistry, most of the questions were from the Organic section. Check complete report here.

1:00 PM | Candidates felt Shift 1 paper was much easier than the last session’s paper. Also, no candidate faced any technical glitches, while appearing for the exam in online mode.


12:45 PM | As per student’s reaction, Physics section was the toughest of all, whereas Chemistry and Mathematics were comparatively easier. Questions came more from Class 11 topics, than from Class 12 ones.

JEE Main 2019 April Shift 1 Paper 1

11:45 AM | JEE 2019 April session for B.Arch/ B.Plan paper was successfully conducted yesterday in 2 shifts. The exam held for both the shifts was said to be of “moderate” difficulty level.


11:30 AM | 43.6 marks is expected to be scored by a candidate, in order to stay on the safer side to qualify for the Paper 2 exam.


11:15 AM | For JEE Main 2019 Paper 1, a candidate needs to attempt 30 questions each from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics section, making it a paper of 360 marks in total.


11:00 AM | As per the data received, there is a rise in the number of candidates who had registered for Paper 1 April session. For the Jan session, 9,29,198 candidates had applied, whereas for April session, 935741 candidates have applied.


10:45 AM | Over 3000 Jammers have been installed by NTA, across all the JEE Main 2019 centres for security reasons.


10:30 AM | For the January session, 319834 male candidates and 132638 female candidates had appeared for Paper 1, Day 1 of JEE Main 2019.


10:15 AM | This is the first day and first shift of April session JEE Main 2019 Paper 1. Candidates were not allowed to take their geometry box, bag, any kind of textual material, electronic gadgets or any eatables/ water bottles inside the exam hall.


10:00 AM | Due to CCTV surveillance and installation of Jammers at the exam centres, no candidate should/ will be able to indulge in any unfair practices.


9:45 AM | JEE Main 2019 is currently being conducted in CBT mode only, across 470 centres and in English, Hindi and Gujarati languages.


09:30 AM | Candidates are all seated for Shift 1 Paper 1 of JEE Main 2019 and the exam commences.


09:25 AM | The number of male candidates appearing for the paper 1 exam is 6,73,457 and the number of female candidates who will be appearing for the paper 1 is 2,62,281.


09:00 AM | Most of the candidates have entered the exam centers after the verification of admit card and Id proof. The exam is being held across 470 Centres in 267 Cities (9 of them outside India). 9,35,741 candidates are taking the paper 1 exam in the April attempt.


7:30 AM | Gate of the center are now open Candidates are now allowed to enter the centers one by one. The candidates are checked for their admit card before allowing them to enter the centers. The PWD candidates are asked to show their PWD certificate.


07:00 AM | Candidate of paper 1 has gathered at the exam centers along with their parents. The JEE Main 2019 Paper 1 exam starts today from 9:30 AM.

This time NTA will be compiling the result after the exam based on the NTA scores or the percentile scores of the candidates. The percentile score or the NTA score is the normalised score of the candidates. The result of the candidates will have the section wise percentile marks and the total percentile marks.

After the April result is declared, NTA is also going to release the All India Rank list of the candidates based on the candidate’s best percentile score out of both the attempts. The admission to the NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs will be based on the AIR.

The official answer key will be uploaded over jeemain.nic.in, 2-3 days after the exam is over. NTA will also upload the response sheet and question paper of the candidates. To check the answer key, question paper and response sheet the candidates have to log in using there Application number and password/date of birth.

The result of the JEE Main 2019 Paper 1 will be declared by April 30, 2019. However, the result of the paper 2 exam will be declared by May 15, 2019. There were 15 toppers in the JEE Main 2019 Paper 1 January exam with a perfect 100 percentile. In paper 2 there were 2 toppers with a perfect 100 percentile.

After the exam is over, many coaching centers like the career point, FIITJEE, Allen, etc release the analysis and memory based answer keys for each shift and day.
