Analysis of Shift 1 and Shift 2 of JEE Main 2019 Paper 1 Held on April 08, 2019

As per the initial student reactions, shift 2 today was the same in difficulty level when compared to the January attempt. However, the weightage of class 12 questions was more than that of class 11.

The most difficult section was Physics. The physics section was tricky. There were a few practical based questions like there was a question based on Telescope’s resolution. There were questions from Mechanics, Optics an EM waves. there were many questions from electrostatics

Chemistry was the easiest. There were questions from simple organic reactions. Most of the questions were equation based. Chemistry section had no tricky questions.

However, Mathematics remained at the moderate end. However, maths was lengthy in shift 2. There were questions from binomial theorem. There were questions from complex number, probability, integration and differential calculus. Candidates claim that most of the important topics were covered in Maths. There were questions from Parabola.

In shift 1, the students revealed that Physics was the most difficult section, Maths had mixed reactions, however, most of the candidates said that it was moderate and chemistry was the easiest section. In shift 1 the weightage of class 11 was more than that of class 12.

Tip: Candidates could complete the paper on time and no question was out of the syllabus. The advice that the candidates give for the upcoming exam days is that go through the questions first once and then start attempting the sections. You can marks the easy questions and attempt them first and then invest time on the difficult/tricky ones.

The question that was asked in shift 1 were mostly from Thermodynamics in Physics, in Maths the students had to attempt most of the question from trigonometry and coordinate geometry. In chemistry, most of the questions came from the organic section, s, p and f blocks.

The answer key and questions are available after the exam as per the memory of the candidates. The exam is being held at 470 Centres in 267 Cities (9 of them outside India) in an entirely online mode. therefore the question and answers after the exam are published as per the memory of the candidates.

National testing agency (NTA) releases the official questions and response sheets of the candidates over the official website 2-3 days after the exam is over. To check the same, the candidates have to log in using their application number and date of birth/password.

In addition to that, the answer key of the candidates is also made available for challenge. After the challenges are accepted the final answer keys are uploaded as er which the JEE Main 2019 result will be prepared. The candidates have to pay a sum of Rs. 1000/- per challenge and that is refundable if the challenges are accepted.

This time NTA is going to release the All India Rank (AIR) List. This rank list will be based on the best NTA scores of the candidates out of both the attempts. The candidates who have attempted only one attempt their ranks in the list will be as per the one attempt – January or the April one.

The scorecard of JEE Main 2019 paper 1 will be available by April 30, 2019. the scorecard will also have the cutoff marks of the candidates and thus they can know whether or not they are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2019.
