National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a new notice for JEE Main 2019 exam date. Earlier, the board announced that the examination will be held between January 06 to 20, 2019. However, now it has also disclosed that the exam will be held on Saturday and Sundays. As per this, the possible dates for JEE Main 2019 are January 06, 12, 13, 19 and 20, 2019.
NTA has not confirmed that the exam will be held on every Saturday and Sunday but the exam will be surely held in all or few of these dates. The candidates will get to know their exact exam date and shift on October 05, 2018. Whereas, the exam city allotment will be done on October 21, 2018. These dates are applicable for both Paper I and Paper II.
The announcement of exam date, shift, and city will be done online, at jeemain.nic.in. The candidates will get to know it through login and to access it application number and password will be needed. Candidates should carefully note their exam date, shift, and city and appear for the exam as per these only. The two shifts for JEE Main 2019 Paper I and II are 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.
NTA will also release JEE Main 2019 admit card on December 17, 2018. In it, the exact exam venue will be mentioned. Other than this, admit card will hold information like name, paper, center code, timing, reporting time, photograph, signature,etc. Candidates will have to carry it on the exam day, as a printed copy.
Other than the admit card, candidates will also have to carry one passport size photograph and one photo id proof. The photograph should be the same as that uploaded in the application form. An authorized photo id proof can be pan card, aadhaar card, voter if card, passport, ration card, etc. Candidates belonging to PwD category will also have to carry PwD certificate, as issued by competent authority.
JEE Main 2019 is only being held in online mode this year. The exam will also be conducted in April, from 06 to 20. Details about JEE Main April 2019 will be announced in February 2019. NTA will announce result for both the exam separately but the admission will be held together in JoSAA counselling. To prepare the result, NTA will use normalisation process. As per it the merit list of JEE Main will be prepared on the basis of percentile score and not raw score.
