Council of Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) has today, April 26, 2022, successfully conducted the ISC Class 12 Semester 2 examination for English – Paper 1 subject. The paper was held for a duration of 1 hour 30 minutes i.e., from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. The paper was held offline, at affiliated schools across the country. Unlike semester 1 which was entirely objective in nature, the semester 2 exam covered both objective and subjective-based questions.
CISCE will soon release the official answer key for ISC Class 12 English Language Semester 2 exam. It will most likely be released in PDF format on the official website cisce.org. In the meantime, however, students can take a look at the unofficial answer keys uploaded by educators online. Some have also uploaded video-based solutions on their YouTube channel.
ISC English Language 2022 Answer Key

English Paper 1 only covered subjective questions and hence, students cannot directly deduce their scores. However, the video-based solutions uploaded by educators specify the key criteria to judge each question. Students can make a note of these criteria and accordingly, determine their tentative score.
ISC English Language 2022 Syllabus
According to the bifurcated syllabus uploaded by CISCE. today’s ISC English Language semester 2 paper covered three sections – 1. Composition, 2. Directed Writing and 3. Proposal Writing. Held for a duration of 90 minutes, the paper covered questions worth 40 marks. A separate theory paper will be conducted on Monday, May 02, 2022, covering the Literature component of English.
Paper Analysis
Today’s ISC English Language semester 2 paper was briefly based on the specimen paper uploaded by CISCE. If one observes the specimen paper, he/she could easily assert that it contains three questions. These questions hold a 20-12-8 weightage, testing the writing abilities of a student. The questions are in tandem with the semester 2 syllabus specified by CISCE. Students attempted a similar paper in today’s exam.
After the ISC English Paper 1 exam, the next exam for Commerce will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022. Again, the duration of the exam and paper pattern will remain the same.
