Indian Coast Guard invites online applications for the Indian Coast Guard Navik GD Recruitment 2019 for the 01/2020 batch at joinindiancoastguard.gov.in. Whereas registration has started today, the last date to apply online is September 1.
Job seekers with a 12th class pass qualification with maths and physics, and having 50% marks in aggregate can apply; SC/ST candidates get a 5% relaxation. Other than that, applicant is required to be between 18 to 22 years of age. The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC / ST and 3 years for OBC candidates.
Indian Coast Guard will close the online registrations link on the last date at 5.00 pm. To submit their form, candidates have to logon to joinindiancoastguard.gov.in and click on careers @CG >> Select online application >> Read thoroughly the advertisement of Navik general duty >> proceed to fill information of educational qualification, employment experience >> Upload scanned photo below 40 kb and signature below 30 kb >> On completion, click the submit button.
After submission of the online application, a unique registration/application number will be provided to the candidates. It should be noted down safely for retrieval / print of e-admit card. The link for the same will be available from September 17 to 23, 2019. The date of exam is not yet announced but it is notified that candidates are advised to bring 3 copies of e-admit card, colored passport size photographs (blue background) pasted and signed at the bottom of the application form.
Shortlisting of candidates will be done on the basis of written examination, physical fitness test (PFT) and preliminary medical examination. The written exam will be of objective type covering questions from math, physics, chemistry, english, general knowledge, quantitative aptitude and reasoning. Those who qualify the written test, have to undergo PFT test followed by a medical test (conducted by military doctors). Zone wise selection list will be displayed next year int he month of January 2020.
The training will commence from February 2020 at INS Chilka followed by a sea and professional training in the allotted trade. A Navik will be responsible for ensuring safety and protection of artificial islands, fishermen in distress while at sea. They will also have to look for prevention and control of marine pollution and assisting the customs in anti-smuggling operations.
On joining the Indian Coast Guard, the officer will be placed in a basic pay of Rs 21,700 in pay level 3. Based on their performance, they can be promoted in the rank of Pradhan Adhikari with a pay level 8, i.e Rs 47,600.
Navik general duty is entitled to perks after joining Indian Coast Guard such as ration, clothing, accommodation, medical treatment for self and family. With regards to leaves, they get 45 days earned leave, 8 casual leaves per year along with leave travel concession (LTC). The organisation will also provide canteen and loan facilities. Males and females both can apply
