The official notification for Indian Army 56th Short Service Commission (Tech) Men and 27th Short Service Commission (Tech) women is now available. Eligible and interested candidates can download the official notification from the Indian Army website, joinindianarmy.nic.in. Applications for 191 vacant posts have already started from October 14, 2020 onwards. All the unmarried male and female candidates can submit their applications on or before November 12, 2020.
Only Engineering graduates are eligible to submit their applications for Indian Army SSC recruitment. Both the courses, 56th Short Service Commission (Tech) Men and 27th Short Service Commission (Tech) women, will start from April 2021. The course will be held at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The selected candidates have to undergo a training period of 49 weeks.
While applying online, candidates have to ensure that they meet the prescribed eligibility criteria. To apply, the candidate’s age should not be less than that of 20 years as on April 01, 2021. The upper age limit for Indian Army SSC recruitment is 27 years. However, the upper age limit is relaxable up to 35 years of age for widows of Defence Personnel who dies in harness only.
Candidates who have passed Engineering degree examination or are in the final year can apply for Short Service Commission (Tech) recruitment. Those who are in the final year have to provide proof of passing by April 01, 2021 and produce Engineering degree certificate within 12 weeks of the date of commencement of the training.
To apply online, aspirants have to browse the official website of Indian Army, joinindianarmy.nic.in. On reaching the website, candidates have to navigate to ‘officer entry apply/ login’ > registration to start the registration process. They have to ensure that they provide information various segments carefully and correctly. Candidates can apply for only one entry/ discipline for this recruitment. Moreover, candidates are required to take out two copies of the filled application form having roll number after the last date of application form submission.
The selection for Indian Indian Army 56th Short Service Commission (Tech) Men and 27th Short Service Commission (Tech) women is done in three stages. The first stage is the shortlisting of applications based on the eligibility criteria. Thereafter, qualifying candidates are called for SSB interview. This includes two-stage – Stage 1 and Stage 2. SSB interview takes places for 05 days. Shortlisted candidates have to appear for an interview at one of the centres – Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bengaluru (Karnataka) and Kapurthala (Punjab).
