India Post, Ministry of Communication has released Notification for the post of Gramin Dak Sevaks (Cycle-II) for Haryana, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh Circle. Interested and eligible candidates can send their application for Branch Postmaster, Assistant Branch Postmaster and Dak Sevak from June 08, 2020 onwards through appost.in. The India Post will be accepting the online application for these posts starting from June 08, 2020 upto July 07, 2020.
Candidates have to register by visiting the official website to generate a unique registration number and submit the post preference. India Post accepts application form after the payment of Rs.100/- from OBC/EWS Male/Trans-man and candidates of another category. Payment of application fee is accepted through online as well offline mode of payment (Head Post Office or other identified Post Offices in India). A candidate can apply for a maximum of 20 posts for the cycle of respective state.
Under Cycle-II of Gramin Dak Sevaks recruitment, India Post is accepting applications for 4166 vacancies which are bifurcated as follows: 608 posts for Haryana Circle, 2834 posts for Madhya Pradesh Circle and 724 posts for Uttarakhand Circle. These posts further segregated based on the different reserved and unreserved categories. Out of total Haryana Circle posts, 60 vacancies are reserved for EWS, 147 for OBC, 19 for PWD, 106 for SC and 276 vacancies for unreserved. Similarly, the vacancies under Madhya Pradesh circle are reserved for EWS (292), OBC (296), PWD (113), SC (428), ST (566) and Unreserved (1139). The Uttarakhand Circle vacancies are divided as 38 for EWS, 96 for OBC, 18 for PWD, 134 for SC and 411 for unreserved category.
India Post has defined the required educational criteria, age limit and other basic eligibility criteria. Interested candidates must have cleared 10th standard with passing marks in Mathematics, Local Language and English. Those aspirants who have passed 10th standard in their first attempt are given preference in comparison to those who passed the exam with compartment. Candidates must have studied Local Language at least up to 10th standard as an elective or compulsory subject. Those who are in the age group of 18 years to 40 years as on June 08, 2020 can send their application for Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) posts. Adding to this, candidates must also have done a Basic Computer Training Course Certificate of at least 60 days of duration.
India Posts offers Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) to the newly appointed Branch Postmaster, Assistant Branch Postmaster/Dak Sevak. The minimum TRCA of Rs. 12,000/- (Level 1) and Rs.14,500/- (Level 2) is offered to Branch Postmaster posts. Likewise, Rs.10,000/- (Level 1) and Rs.12,000 (Level 2) are given to Assistant Branch Postmaster/Dak Sevak.
