Putting an end to the speculations, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India officially stated that the CA November exam 2019 are not postponed. An official notification to the effect has been published at icai.org.
As scheduled, the CA Foundation November 2019 exam dates will be 9th, 13th, 15th, and 17th November. CA Intermediate November 2019 exam dates will be 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 11th, 14th, 16th, and 18th November. And last but not the least, CA Final November 2019 exam dates are 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 13th, 15th, 17th November.
It is not clear how the rumors started. Yet it is true that in the past few weeks candidates have heard from various sources that the ICAI exams were being rescheduled. This hearsay was detrimental on several counts – ICAI students were re-organizing their study plan as per it, they would have not checked the website to download admit card at scheduled time, and most importantly many might have missed the actual exam.
ICAI has clearly laid down through the “No Postponement Of CA November 2019 Exams” notification now that students should only refer icai.org for any announcement.
It is probable that the postponement gossip started because ICAI had to reschedule the CA May exams 2019. The last exam was initially supposed to be held from May 2 to May 17. However it had to be rescheduled to May 27 to June 12 in light of Lok Sabha elections.
Knowing now that the exam will be held as previously scheduled, candidates may expect their ICAI admit cards in mid of this month. The admit cards will be available at icaiexam.icai.org. To download it, candidates will have to click on the login button on the website and enter their login id, password. Then on the next screen, they will have to click view link against admit card.
The admit card will contain candidate’s name, address, roll number, exam, city, medium, registration number, mobile number, centre, photograph, signature, and exam day instructions.
High Level Independent Committee Formed For Examinations
The ICAI has announced that it has taken the decision to constitute a high level independent committee that will look into the examination process and regulations that currently govern the CA examinations. This will include analysing the regulation 39 (4) of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988. Constituted committee shall suggest necessary changes in the existing ICAI examination system.
Members of the committee are: Dr. P. C. Jain, Govt. Nominee, Convenor; Justice (CA.) Anil R. Dave, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India; CA. Ved Jain, Past President, ICAI; CA. Amarjit Chopra, Past President, ICAI; CA. (Dr.) Girish Ahuja, Renowned Educationist.
ICAI is the statutory body in India that regulates the Chartered Accountancy profession. To become a CA, one has to undergo the foundation route that starts with foundation exam after 12th, then CA inter, and then CA final. Or else the direct entry route that allows graduates and post graduates to bypass the foundation exam.
