The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission has released the official notification for 16 posts. The application process of the same will commence from 19 May 2021 to 15 June 2021. The HPSC has invited application for five different posts i.e. HP Administrative Services, District Controller, HP Police Service, Tehsildar and Assistant Registrar. The candidates who are successful in clearing the entrance test will be eligible to receive a salary on the pay scale of Rs.15600-39100+(GP 5400) for the post of HP Administrative Services, District Controller. While the candidates selected for the post of HP Police Service, Tehsildar will get emoluments on the pay scale of Rs.10300-34800+(GP 5000).
As per the notification, the candidate’s age limit is fixed at 21 years to 35 years. While the candidates who belong to the reserved quota i.e. SC/ST/OBC etc will get an age relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit. In addition to this, the candidate must have passed a Bachelor degree from a recognised University or college. Also, the candidates applying for the same should have knowledge of the official languages spoken in the state.
First, the candidates need to register themselves on the Commission’s official i.e. hppsc.hp.gov.in/hppsc. Thereafter, they are required to click on the Apply Online link and move to the registration page. Next, the candidates are required to enter their Email id, Mobile number, Security question, Password and Captcha code. Next, the candidates have to log in and fill in the HPSC Application form with all the relevant details i.e. personal Details, address, academic qualification, test centre city, option to choose the optional subject. Next, the candidates have to upload documents i.e. Class 10th certificate, Caste Certificate, Bachelor/Master degree certificate, Domicile certificate.
In the end, the candidates will be required to pay the application form fee using any of the online methods i.e. Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking. The application fee for the General Category student and SC/ST student is fixed at Rs 400 and Rs 100 respectively. The female and Ex-servicemen candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.
The selection process includes a preliminary exam, a mains written test and an Interview. The preliminary exam will have two papers i.e. General Studies and Aptitude Test. Each paper will have 100 objective questions for 200 marks held for a duration of 2 hours each. The candidate will get 2 marks for each correct answer while 1/3rd marks will be deducted for the wrong answer. The Aptitude Test will be qualifying in nature and candidates have to score 33% marks in the same. The candidates successful in the Preliminary test will be called for Mains and Interview subsequently.
