Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) has announced the date for the HP Panchayat Secretary Examination 2021. As per the latest announcement, the recruitment exam is scheduled to be conducted on October 22, 2021. Admit cards for the exam are expected to come out at least 7 days prior i.e., October 15, 2021. Candidates who have registered for the exam will be able to download their admit cards from the official website recruitment.hpushimla.in once they are released.
The official recruitment notification was issued in December 2020 on the official portal recruitment.hpushimla.in. Of course, the second wave of COVID-19 did force the authorities to delay the conduction of exam. However, now that the country is recovering from the pandemic, authorities will be holding the HP Panchayat Secretary 2021 exam in 16 days. Candidates will get an hour and half i.e., from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm to attempt and complete the entire paper.
As per the official notification, a total of 239 vacancies under the secretarial post will be filled through this recruitment drive. candidates who clear all parts of the selection process will be inducted on a contractual-basis. They will be evaluated based on their performance in the written exam, skill test and verification of documents. Only those candidates whose applications have been successfully accepted by HPU authorities will be allowed to appear for this recruitment drive.
The HPU Panchayat Secretary 2021 written examination will be held for a duration of 1.5 hours and holds a weightage of 85 marks. The skill test will hold a weightage of 15 marks and thus, a candidate will finally be scored out of 100 marks. In the written exam, candidates will be tested and evaluated in subjects like English, Hindi, Mathematics and General Knowledge. For each correct answer, candidates will be awarded 1 mark.
Based on the performance in the HPU Panchayat Secretary 2021 written examination, qualified candidates will be required to appear for the skill test. Here, their typing speed will be tested in terms of “words per minute (WPM)” in either English or Hindi. At the same time, candidates must possess a thorough knowledge of word processing on the computer along with other relevant knowledge. Those who pass the second stage will be provisionally selected for the secretarial vacancies followed by document verification. Claims of date of birth, education qualifications, name and other details will be verified before finally confirming the list of selected candidates.
