The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur has already released the official answer keys for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2022. With the release of the answer keys, candidates have been given the opportunity to challenge the same from today, i.e. February 22, 2022. Please note that the challenges will be accepted till February 25, 2022. Candidates have to submit challenges along with substantial proof and also an explanation regarding the same.
How to challenge?
IIT Kharagpur will only accept the paid challenges. For every question that is to be challenged, one needs to pay Rs 500. Here is a detailed explanation of the steps that need to be followed to challenge the GATE 2022 answer key.
Step 1- The candidate must first log in to the GOAPS portal. For that, visit the official website – gate.iitkgp.ac.in and click on the ‘Login’ button under ‘GATE 2022 Online Application’.
Step 2- Now, enter the enrollment ID or email address followed by the password.

Step 3- Evaluate the arithmetic expression and enter the value in the provided space. After that, click on the ‘Submit’ button.
Step 4- Read the declaration and select the checkbox after which one has to click on the ‘Contest Answer Key’ button displayed on the page.
Step 5- The main page will open. Here, the candidate will be required to select the section and question first.
Step 6- Then, they have to provide a justification for the contest that they are submitting. It must be noted that the justification needs to be within 500 characters and not more than that.
Step 7- Now, click on the ‘Choose File’ button to upload supporting documents regarding the particular challenge.
Step 8- At the bottom of the page, view the contested questions for the last time before pressing the ‘Submit’ button.
Step 9- Click on the ‘Submit’ button after which the candidate will be taken to the payment gateway.
Step 10- Pay the required sum which will again depend on the number of questions the candidate wants to submit challenges.
Candidates must note that an objection will only be accepted when a document proof will be uploaded and the challenge fee is deposited. These challenges will then be reviewed by internal experts. If the challenge is found to be correct, then a revised answer key is likely to be published at a later date. However, the revised or the final answer key cannot be challenged.
