Home Department, Government of Bihar has rescheduled the walk-in-interview dates for Doctors (General/Specialist) due to the extended lockdown period. As the COVID-19 situation is not in control yet, Government of Bihar has decided to extend its lockdown. Due to this, the interview is rescheduled to August 05, 2020, and August 06, 2020, which were earlier scheduled for from July 20 and July 21, 2020. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official website, home.bih.nic.in, to get the latest updates related to the recruitment.
Earlier the walk-in-interview was scheduled for two days in the month of July. However, the Government of Bihar has decided to extend the lockdown period for the state from July 16, 2020, to July 31, 2020, acknowledging the pandemic. In view of COVID-19 spread, social distancing and other precautions, the conducting body has decided to postpone the interview. Other rules, related to recruitment remains the same. The interview will now be organized on August 05 and 06, 2020 at 10:00 AM. Candidates have to appear at Prisons and Correctional Services, Patna, Bihar to participate in walk-in-interview. Candidates must carry their educational qualification certificates, domicile certificate, caste certificate, a certificate stating that candidate does not belong to the creamy layer, minimum three passport size photograph and other relevant documents. All eligible candidates must provide required information before July 31, 2020, through home.bih.nic.in. No travel allowance or dearness allowance is paid to candidates for appearing in the interview round.
The selection process for Doctors (General/Specialist) is based on the marks obtained in their MBBS degree. On the basis of aggregate marks secured in the MBBS degree, a merit list is prepared. If more than one candidate secures equal marks in merit list then one who is older is ranked higher. Based on the merit list candidates are invited for the interview round. This stage is conducted to test candidates knowledge and ability to serve the position.
The conducting body has announced 14 vacancies for Specialist Doctors and 43 vaccines for General Doctor. As per the preference selected in the application form and vacancies available, candidates are posted of the districts. They have to mark the minimum 03 preference of district for posting. The shortlisted candidates as Specialist Doctors receive Rs. 82,000/- per month and General Doctor gets Rs. 65,000/- as per month salary. Those candidates who have MBBS and MD/MS degree can eligible for Specialist Doctors. Aspirants with MBBS degree is eligible for General Doctor. Candidates age must not exceed as that of 65 years.
